It shares borders with Dumfries and Galloway, East Renfrewshire, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire. The headquarters of the council are located on London Road, Kilmarnock. My husband and I went for a two hour experience with the Clydesdale horses, Lucky and Randolph. Beautiful, graceful creatures!
This was a present from my husband which was completely different and it exceeded all my expectations.
When we arrived at the farm we were greeted with a warm welcome from all the staff. We were then introduced to all the horses and the donkeys, supplying lots of carrots
We hadn’t been on horses for years and were quite nervous as the horses are huge!
Sonya and Beth were considerate and lovely to be around, nothing was too much bother, Lucky and Randolph were gracious and also patient with novice customers on their back.
We had a beautiful autumn day, did a bit of grooming first then went for a trek around the Wood road area, thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing.
Thank you to all at Blackstone for providing a truly memorable day for my husband and I, we won’t forget it and Sonya and Beth were kind enough to take pics along the way

Reading the reviews I can see there is a problem in securing tours of the house. I must admit I failed to read the website in advance which stated that in the winter months there were no tours on weekdays, so we were disappointed to find that we wouldn't get a tour on the day we visited. But we loved our walk round the wonderful Gardens, and then - thanks to the helpful Helen at the Lodge - we were able to arrange a (expensive) private house tour after all. So glad we did. Our very knowledgeable guide (Karen) never rushed us, answered all our questions, and clearly is very properly proud of the house and the whole project.

Dean Castle Country Park is an excellent free day out for all the family. The Country Park boasts a 14th century castle and beautiful woodland walks. The Country Park has completed a project to upgrade its Rural Life Centre, play park and Visitor Centre. The Castle is now closed for restoration and works will begin in June 2018. From June 2018, you will be able to see the museum collections normally on display in Castle at the Dick Institute, Elmbank St, Kilmarnock. Join us for different holiday activities with the Ranger Service over Easter and summer.

No matter what the weathers doing you can always rely on the Dick institute for a few good hours of entertainment weather your visiting the galleries , museum or library there's something for everyone including toilet facilities, Would love it to have coffee though...!

This is a fantastic experience full of information and insight into astronomy. The guy that delivers this is a very good presenter and the venue is amazing. Kids around us on the day were just gasping all the time - i think that's a sign of something good. Definitely go again on a less clouded night

N C Swimming pool is the heart of our community located on the main road in our village its safe for all bathers we have changing rooms and showers and our pool is always kept at a temperture of 30 degrees so its warm come rain or shine we also have a pool side cafe where you can get snacks and drinks great family day out and everyone is welcome help and advice is always on hand

Went to watch a show here but the experience was marred by the Seating which was so close together and hardly any space for your legs. Apart from that the bar was nice and building clean and modern.

Been using this park for 30 years, it has it all. Pond in the centre with swans and great variety of birds, who just love being fed with your stale bread. Swiing chute and zip slide, with lots of small kiddie things to sit on, adult excercise equipment if your feeling energetic, also a small bike track.. Great circular walk from the car park at the bowling green, to the Burns Monument at the top of the park. There are 2 large stone Lions for a photo opportunity and from where there are great views over the town. We always go at Easter so the grandchildren can roll their eggs down the steep hill at the very back of the park, popular spot. This park is a perfect picnic area 5 minute walk from the town, not a massive park but a small gem.

The old pit head 'A' Frame is a landmark for miles around and I always thought that nothing else was here however it has a large number of information boards, a cycle track, children's play area and woodland walks with maps to guide you. The car park is well signposted just off the locally famous Barony Road.
The 'A' Frame is the only one of its type surviving and the site is also home to an annual music festival with four stages and around 15 hours of continuous music.

We recently visited Jungle Madness soft play in Kilmarnock with our two grandchildren. We were welcomed by cheery staff and the grandchildren had a ball playing on the equipment there. The food was also great with a good choice for kids and adults. The only think that I objected to was paying 60 pence for a plastic tumbler of diluting juice ! Overall a great place to visit with kids and would recommend to all !
