Afghan hound club of America national speciality was held here 2017. Conformation was outside and hot for dogs and humans. I think inside would have been better. Obedience, Rally and agility all inside. Great facility. Coursing field also great.Thank you for the great review! We would love to host your Club inside the Purina Event Center next time.

The Historic Daniel Boone Home at Lindenwood Park features the home of the legendary hero Daniel Boone and his family. The four-story, Georgian style home was built in the 1800's overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. The home, even by today's standards, is still considered large. The village, located behind the home, is comprised of over a dozen 19th century buildings including the Old Peace Chapel, grist mill, schoolhouse, and carpenter's shop. Together these buildings help visitors understand life on the Missouri frontier. As a county park, visitors are welcome to walk around the grounds at their leisure. Guided tours are available of the Boone Home and/or village. Group tours and school group programs available with reservations. Not all buildings are handicap accessible. The Old Peace Chapel is available to rent for weddings and private services. The enhanced shelter is also available for evening rentals.

We weren't certain what to expect, but we left very pleased. For a informational tour about Boone, one needs to go on another day; however, to enjoy A Halloween environment based around the 1700s and 1800s, this was a pleasure. Murder ballads, ghost tales, and staff that were dressed in period pieces made the night a fun time for the boys!

Montelle Winery has commanding views and a huge deck from which to enjoy them. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and enjoyed a pleasant lunch on the deck. The sandwiches were large and delicious and were served with potato chips. Unfortunately, a number of bees were very interested in our sandwiches. We had been sitting at the edge of the deck, so we moved away and were able to finish our lunch in peace. Wine tastings are 5 samples for $5, including a souvenir wine glass.

My family recently camped here for 3 nights over the holiday weekend. Even with it being a busy holiday weekend the campground was fairly quiet during the evening hours. The only time we dealt with the campground host was at check in but found them to be pleasant and friendly. We camped in space 2 which had a large grassy area for the kids to play in and was just a short walk to the main showerhouse/playground area. The only downside to this spot was that upon leaving we couldn’t make a left turn out of the campsite to go up to the dump station (which in my opinion is in an odd spot) so we had to take a right to turn around. Either primitive or electric only sites available.
The campground is within 10 miles of Chesterfield – which opens up tons of possibilities for shopping, eating and entertainment. If you are looking to do some exploring around St Louis area this campground would be a good home base.

We've been going to this winery for over 20 years. It's lots of fun. The owners mingle with the guests when they can. The wines are pretty good. The cost is a little high, but they are in line with all the other wineries in Defiance and Augusta. There are fun activities. There is entertainment on most weekends in good weather. It's a treat to go here in the winter and huddle in the warmth of the main building.

Augusta winery is consistently the best winery in the Missouri River region. We are dry wine drinkers and Agusta's dry wines are consistently among the best that we've tasted. My only complaint was with their rose. Not only are there wines excellent, but their prices are the best in the area. I'll go back often.

This week provided three great dining out experiences, all unplanned more than a week earlier.
Thurday night provided a work wine tasting and dinner at Chandler Hill, hosted by Riedel wine glasses!
Another group at work had this event scheduled, and thanks to a last minute cancellation on their team, my wife and I were able to attend.
This changed our entire understanding of wine. Before this, I knew of Riedel, and had considered purchasing a couple for the Nortons glasses my wife and me. But I hadn't acted, in part for lack of time, and mostly for lack of understand and appreciation that the glasses help make the wine.
The Riedel host was both entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable. By the end of the night we had tried two white and two red wined and definitely tasted that each tasted "flat" (my term) in three glasses and "amazing" in the one glass designed just for that wine. I thought perhaps the "glass type" from Riedel was "marketing talk," but it is true.
Since then we have purchased a set of two stemless Cabernet glasses and two stem' Nortons - and each of the wines we have enjoyed in them has been so much smoother and better tasting than ones we had previously enjoyed.
This event would have been informational anywhere.
BUT it was hosted at the amazing Chandler Hill.
SO
After the wine tasting we had a very nice steak and lobster dinner, in the fine dining area.
And the views of the pond and grape vines, both on the way in, and on the way out, were amazing as usual.
We had a great time this night, and look forward to returning to Chandler Hill.

Stopped in the Augusta shop and the mechanic there was wonderful. I don't remember her name exactly, maybe Liz or something like that, but she was very helpful in assessing my flat tire situation and fixing my friend's odometer. Very nice personality. Good prices/value as well.

Holy Grail is housed in a small structure with parking on the street and on the side. The space is charming and welcoming. This park is wonderfully kept up, clean, and with many beautiful spaces and hiking and picnic areas. The day we went, there was some kind of earth day event going on and we ended up getting a wildflower tour thru a section of the park. Everything is very well done, including the bathrooms which were very nice for a park. And at one end there is a dog park with a lake for the dogs to jump into. Highly recommend going here.
