The U.S. Army Aviation Museum maintains a collection of over 160 military aircraft, including one of the largest collections of military helicopters in the world. Approximately 50 beautifully restored, historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft, are proudly displayed both inside the Museum's 70,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on the Museum's grounds. The collection includes many significant examples of early research efforts and developments in rotary wing technology and the evolution of the helicopter. Our public galleries represent the Army's involvement in military aviation from the beginning days with the Wright brothers and the early combat aircraft of World War I, up to the highly technological machines such as the AH-64 Apache and the UH-60 Blackhawk flown by Army Aviators today.
We enjoyed visiting this museum and seeing all of the various helicopters and aircraft on display. Good history lesson.

We love this park. It's a little out of the way but offers several playgrounds for the kids. We love that it is spread out so even when there are a lot of people there is still plenty of room to play. Generally the park is clean and well kept. Also, the walking trails are nice to escape the playground. We take the kids with us and just have a nice scenic walk with the kids. If you want to take some nice pictures, this is a great location for photo opportunities as well.

You won't be sorry if you opt to walk around this lake. It's a three-mile walk, mostly paved, though a short part is gravel. Trees keep the high temps manageable but you will have plenty of sun, wildlife, and opportunities to snap some pictures.

This is a museum, learning opportunity, store, and eating establishment. Mr. Todd gave us a personal tour of antique equipment and syrup pitchers. We enjoyed the documentary that had been done about their family business. Mr. Todd was a wealth of information. He gave us samples of four of their syrups and we made many purchases of that plus fig and peach preserves. There was a cafe area and snack bar but the timing was not right for us to indulge in that. It was very interesting and enjoyable. We stayed over an hour.

Great Golf Course open 7 days a week & Holidays, 0700 - dusk. Open to the Public. Has a pro shop, restaurant and bar. Many Retirees and family enjoy this course. It is operated by the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Activity and is open to the public as well. Using this facility supports our great soldiers and families. I thoroughly enjoyed the outings here and ate several meals. Anytime I am in the area this is a favorite stop.

Statue erected in 1919 in honor of the boll weevil, which bought both destruction and renewal to local farmers.
This is such an odd little statue of history. Its literally a woman holding up bug! lol. Its pretty neat though, its in the middle of an intersection in a fountain and its actually a cool little statue. My fiancé is stationed at Ft. Rucker so we went to check it out. The whole history behind the Boil Weevil is pretty interesting. I had no idea about any of it! Theres also some really cute shops along that street as well and some cool paintings on the buildings! I wouldn't drive out of my way to check this out, but if your in the area you should definitely stop and check it out!

There's a grand adventure waiting for you and your family, just on the outskirts of Dothan, at Landmark Park. A 135-acre park built to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of southeast Alabama's Wiregrass Region. As Alabama's Official Museum of Agriculture, Landmark Park is more than just a place to look. It is a place to participate and experience.
Several people had recommended this place to us so we were really looking forward to visiting. However, we were sorely disappointed. There really only about 4 old buildings that you could go in to view: a pharmacy, an old one room schoolhouse, a one-room church house, and an old farm house. All the buildings take less than 5 minutes to go through, with the only interesting one being the pharmacy. They did have an old farm yard where they still have 2 mules and 5 sheep. However, the animals were in awful shape! They had and old mule that was so thin you could count every rib, and see its complete backbone and pelvis. There was a younger mule there too who was skinny but not as bad. I am concerned about the welfare of these animals.

Southern Broadway Dinner Theater is a jewel in south Alabama’s Wiregrass region. The productions are held throughout the year in the beautiful historic Hildreth Brothers building, a unique venue with special charm. The menus are superb; every meal a perfect accompaniment to the production and outstandingly presented in a friendly family style. The original shows range from historical drama to up-beat musicals plus everything in between, featuring fine talent from the local area and beyond. Dinner and a show with Southern Broadway is definitely an evening worth experiencing!
I decided to celebrate my birthday here and it was an excellent decision! The audience sit family style at round tables to partake in a delicious three course meal, followed by a play.
The meal alone is worth the admission! The play was performed well and it moved me! I must say it was the first time a live production had me tearing.
The total experience exceeded my expectations by far!
P.S. The cost of admission does not include the tip! I was embarrassed when I was unable to leave an appropriate cash tip and the staff totally earns every bit of it. I will leave double on my next visit!

I like visiting here a few times a year. There are constantly changing exhibits and the grounds are well maintained for. Parking is almost all shaded and there are vending machines at the main entrance.
This site could be covered in about two hours if you're taking your time to enjoy everything.
