The Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre showcases the amazing history of the Snowy Mountains Scheme; from the early days of construction through to how it is operated by Snowy Hydro today. This is a must for any visitor to the Snowy Mountains region! The Centre houses a comprehensive exhibition hall including an extensive photographic collection, models, hands-on exhibits and interactive displays. You will find information about the Scheme such as engineering, the environment, the National Electricity Market, history, water management and power generation. Take your turn on the “power bikes” and see if you can peddle hard enough to power a TV, make some toast or boil a kettle. You will also find screens displaying the Scheme working in real time. See which generators are operating, how much electricity they are producing and the prices of electricity in the market.

The Snowy Hydro scheme is one of the world’s most amazing engineering marvels and this discovery Centre perfectly explains all about with great displays, museum pieces and theatre. There’s a cafe and gift shop at the end of the displays. Well worth a visit for young and old.

The tour was by trusted prisoner who escorted our group the has incredible knowledge of the prison system, both current and historically. The tour is very informative and the displays and interpretive stuff is excellent. The "home made" goods on sale are also of good quality and their sales assist prisoners to purchase a few luxuries. This is a gold coin donation only to enter, so spend a buck ad have a look.

Eucumbene Trout Farm has a Cafe, Farm Tours and Fishing Experiences. The farm is a working trout farm also with Highland cattle and Alpacas. They have a privately stocked Stony lake for fishing with fly rod or rod to fish for your trout. Should you not be successful then you are welcome to advance your luck in the sure catch pond. You then have the choice of staff preparing the trout for cooking on the barbecues and having lunch in their picnic area or taking the trout home. A great day out for the family. Four hour sessions are available by arrangement. Beginner's introductory lessons can be included if required. All rods, reels, landing nets and bait/flies are supplied.Guided tours of the farm are available at 10am and 2pm, or other times by arrangement. The farm focuses on sustainability and water management and is accredited by Ecotourism Australia

We went to take our 3 children (all under 8) fishing here as they have never been fishing before. Admittedly when we turned up there were already a few people there. We were told we couldn’t use the tanks as they were full but could use the lake. 3 x kids fishing in a huge lake = boredom within 30 minutes. We then asked if we could take a walk around the property and were charged $45, without use of any of the facilities (no bathroom stops, no cafe visit, just a walk). This took all of 20 minutes. We then went back to the “sure catch tanks” to see how people were doing. I spoke to a couple who had been there for 2 hours and still hadn’t caught a thing (in the sure catch tank) In the whole time we were watching we saw 1 fish caught. I think being charged to walk around a property is absurd and I think my partner and I were so in shock we stupidly paid for the underwhelming experience. I am glad of 2 things after visiting this place, 1. We will never go back and 2. If we want fish, we will go to the fish mongers.

Not a bad spot for beginners. Snow was thin during this time so did hurt when you fall. Tobaggan field is payable as compared to perisher and thredbo which are free. Access to this spot is not great as well but also pending where you are staying

Just minutes out of town centre, easy access with or without car, and nice district views. No fee, no crowds, if driving through Cooma, find time to do it. Good place for a leg stretch if driving from Sydney to ski fields.

This beautiful gallery showcases work by the region's established and emerging artists, from painters to ceramicists, potters, sculptors, and jewellers. Housed in a postcard perfect historic building with beautiful Gardens and run by volunteers, its really very appealing. Creaky floors, low doorways and some stunning art on the walls makes this a very interesting place to visit. Definitely worth a visit.

Hired our skis from here. Great value. The main thing for us though was the customer service. We had a mix up while skiing - my husband ended up with someone else's skis. We drove up here just after 8am on a very foggy sunday morning. We had great views over the surrounding area and out to the Mountains. It was quite pretty to see the layer of fog that was hiding the town of Cooma. The Australian bush is always stunning, and walking around the tracks here at this lookout certainly did not disappoint. As if on cue, a small group of kangaroos hopped across our path and disappeared into the bush.

We arrived Friday afternoon after a long bike ride & we were made to feel very welcome
The proprietor surprised us ( and everyone ) with a big plate of free finger food - which was greatly appreciated too !
My Calamari dinner and Caesars salad was EXCELLENT ...... and others ordered their MEGA SCHNITZEL - which they could NOT finish !!!
Overall - a GREAT place to stay at !
