Redlands Bowl

Reviewed By John S - California

I have been going to the Redlands Bowl for over 18 years and it has become a rich family tradition. We go to the Summer Music Festival all summer long at the Bowl. Last summer I only missed one show and that's because it rained and I didn't want to go to the other venue. The entertainment is top-notch and would probably cost you anywhere from $25 to $50 in other venues. Oh yeah, did I mention the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is free!? This makes it a perfect venue to take my family of seven.

Yes, it is free, though they do pass around a free will offering during intermission. Obviously, they also accept donations so please check out their website. Parking is at a premium, so you might want to go at least a half hour to an hour early and park just north of the bowl across the street from the post office. There is also parking in the old Redlands Mall parking lot, also north of the Bowl. For those with difficulty walking, they will let you get a little closer to park or be dropped off.

The seating is bench-style and there really are no bad seats, though you may want a blanket or pillow to soften the seat a bit. Some people choose to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sit on the sides or the very back. Many people bring food, and sometimes beer or wine. Drinking is not necessarily allowed (open container) but the crowd sort of polices itself and keeps the wine bottles on the down low. It's the worst kept secret.

Overall, it is great family fun in a safe environment. I hope to go for years and years. Here are a few of the shows we've seen over the years: Bollywood Spectacular, Rhythmic Circus, Riders in the Sky, Modern Gentlemen, Celtic Spring, Tarzan, Oklahoma, California Guitar Trio, The Voetberg Family Band, and much, much more!

If u are in the area and would like to have fun, I think this is a good option. Especially if u get one of unlimited packages. This place has decent facilities This place has:
Go carts
Laser tag arena
Miniature golf course 2
Amusement rides
Baring cages
Arcade
Also good for bday parties
Water park ( do not know if still open)
1)This a local amusement that has been open since I remember. Fun place with lots of options
2) it is no Disneyland or six flags, but would be fun place if you do do not expect 5 stars park It has its little problems, but owners seems to keep up the place as best as possible.cThey make renovations and maintain the place
3) Service is ok, decent. Young people sometimes lack all the customer service skills you may want or expect
4) prices are reasonable with several package options as well as individual prices.
26.99 Gets u unlimited go karts, amusement rides, mini-golf, rollerskating, and one laser tag for the day.
23.95 gets u Unlimited go karts, amusement rides & miniature golf.
10.95 gets you all day unlimited use of 2 miniature golf courses
7.95 one go cart race & 59.99 gets u 10 races
Did no see the price for batting cages
5) food is not the best. Guess comparable to fair food.
Overall kids, teens, and adults can have fun here. Just do not expect a 5 stars park

Great park that has all kinds of uses! There are two sets of play equipment and another set of swings. There is sand, there are large fields of grass, and there are two dog parks (one for small dogs and another for big ones. The latter is all dirt and dust and is hidden in the other side of the hill). There are also tennis courts. Lots of picnickers and frisbee/football throwers on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, behind the park, there are extensive hiking/mountain biking trails all over the hills. This is a favorite with locals.

We had seen the movie "The Founder" so thought it would be interesting to stop at the site of the original McDonald's. So many cool artifacts as well as many things borrowed from the museum to produce the movie. The majority of items are happy meal toys from various years and countries which is an interesting glimpse into pop culture. The museum is FREE which is very generous since it is privately run. Recommend for a quick stop if you are a McDonald's fan!

Colton Area Museum

I stopped by and found out a lot about Colton, CA. They has a great many displays of clothing including a lot of hats which you do not find in a lot of museums. Old sewing machines, utensils, furniture, games and items to make butter and all sorts of stuff. The town was once a railroad stop and items were displayed as well. The highlight was the Earp office display and a lot of history of Virgil Earp and the Earp family in Colton. I had no idea. They are only open Wed & Fri-1PM-4PM and Sat-11AM-2PM. It is located in the former Carnegie Public Library Building. Interesting info on that also. Say a lot of items that I remember growing up with or that my parents had. Worth seeing.

This is the only museum dedicated to Lincoln west of the Mississippi and a great resource for historians doing research. It's also a great place for visitors to become more acquainted with Lincoln's life and Civil War history. Docents are available to give short tours and explanations. One treasured artifact is an original Norman Rockwell painting donated by the artist himself. A must-see in the Inland Empire!
