As a child of the 80s that always wanted a CPK, I had to come here for me. But I also wanted to take my kids here. The building is beautiful on the outside, and when you come in, there's several photo ops including a giant cabbage chair! There's several dolls in display cases, and then there's a couple of nursery rooms full of dolls to look at. All of this is free and doesn't take long to look at, because then you arrive at the grand gift shop with dolls everywhere! We spent a long time in here looking at everything - both my daughters chose dolls, and I did too! The special babies are $60 and not in boxes; the special kids are $80. I figure it was once-in-a-lifetime, so we got 2 of the special babies, but they sell boxed dolls of all sizes and kinds - I think the cheapest was $20, so there's something for everyone, not to mention the outfits, binkies, blankets, and many other cabbage patch items.

Ask about the birth and make sure you stay for that! Mother Cabbage gives birth and a nurse puts on a show about the birth of the baby, the tree lights up what color it'll be if it's a boy or a girl, there's some audience interaction and after all that, the nurse goes into the nursery room and checks up on the baby and so forth, and then lets anyone want to hold the new "baby" get a turn. It made the experience so much more fun!!

Everyone was very nice & friendly and we loved visiting here. After we bought our dolls, I knew to ask about the birth certificates thanks to reading reviews here, and one of the nurses took us into the adoption room where we named the babies and she made out the birth certificates, and everyone took an oath to take good care of the babies. It was GREAT!!!

Mountain Fresh Creamery seems to be listed nas an attraction, but it's just a little roadside drive-up ice cream place -- think Dairy Queen with much better ice cream and a very limited menu. You park in the gravel parking lot and walk over to the window. You can watch the cows while you wait for them to make your cone or shake. That's it, but the product's superior. I take my grandkids there in the wummer.

Raven Cliff Falls

Many hiking trails bordered by scenic mountain streams, waterfalls and other scenic vistas abound throughout this 9,115-acre natural reserve.

Reviewed By GeorgiaSunSet - Georgia

Raven Cliff Falls is a hike, a nearly 5 five mile root and rock infested strenuous hike, not a walking trail. To cross small creeks, there are logs and sometimes nothing at all. This is not a trail for small children, dogs, and ladies in heel boots, like we seen. It is ridiculous that people start out on hike not prepared or knowing what to expect. We seen a big dog with a paw dripping with blood because his stupid owner thought it would be a good idea to drag him along. The trail itself is long, secluded, and peaceful. There are no specular views. It is just like walking deep into the forest, but having to watch for dog poop. We had a wonderful time, but felt sorry for the little children and dogs being forced along, and I literally being dragged along, such a hard path. Do not visit the outhouse at the start of the trail - heinous odor and filthy! Bring along a blanket and lunch. Do not leave valuables in your car. We seen a few shady characters hanging out in the back of the parking lot with sleeping bags. I was told by a worker that drifters sleep in the woods behind the parking lot.

Went here for a wine tasting to see what the new wines available are. We always love the wines here, and the setting is very nice!! We enjoyed some wine out on the nice patio while listening to live music there. This is one of our favorite wineries in North GA. If you can, go on a Friday night and bring your pizza and have it cooked there! That is always a good time!

Dukes Creek Falls Trail

Reviewed By luvcruzin2 - Kailua, Hawaii

This is a bit out of the way with almost no parking except along the roadside. There is an amost unrecognizable trail head that is quite steep. The path takes a bit of negotiating as there are lots of roots growing across. However, the falls make the trip very much worthwhile! There is a platform in the lower part of the falls that accommodates those who want to get a good picture of the falls. It was much more spectacular than we could imagine. The path might be very slippery during rain and is not recommended for those with walking difficulties.

Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia

Reviewed By FutureFun - Atlanta, Georgia

We hadn't been here for a while and told visiting family on a Sunday afternoon.
Really glad we did. Great history of the folk art pottery of Northern Georgia and the predominant families of potters. Also reminds one of the cultural changes brought by war, prohibition and technological changes.
Must see the short video as a primer. Some great footage.
In addition to the pottery, there is a small history museum we hadn't seen before that was very interesting and I recommend one take the time to look through and read what is good text. My wife, who studied SE Indian art, never knew there was an Indian Mound in the area.
Staff at the Pottery Museum was great. Helpful and if she didn't know answer to a question, went and found it. Very pleasant and engaged in her job.

Chattahoochee River

Reviewed By ladybd

The river runs right through the middle of town. From our hotel, the Hampton Inn, you could walk out behind just a few yards and be on the banks. There was a spot to walk down and get in, but since it was November, I just enjoyed the view. The mountain water is clear and the bottom was somewhat rocky. I'm sure it's delightful on a hot summer day. It's only a foot or so deep and about 15 feet wide so it's great for tubing, the perfect God-made 'lazy river.'
