I chose this business after an Internet search to introduce two of my female staff how to shoot semi-auto handguns. The building is very new and clean outside. There is ample parking. The lobby and reception area was immaculate and very well lit. It has a comprehensive hand gun display at the front, and the staff were extremely professional and friendly. They have 6 standard pistol bays, and 6 deluxe bays with moveable target holders. The target range is out to 75 feet, and has full adjustment from 1 to 75. They have a variety of range guns available for rent. We had a very enjoyable experience, and I would most highly recommend this business if you in the New Albany/Louisville area looking for some relaxation!!

I love Ohio history! We sometimes forget that this was the frontier 200 years ago. I m particularly interested in the conflicts between native Americans and the first settlers. Visiting this park provided a window into this world. The museum was modern and filled with precise snippets of local history including the formation of the Ohio River, interactions between Indians and settlers and the beginnings of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. There were two excellent short films available for viewing that I highly recommend. We visited the location of George Rogers Clark’s cabin overlooking the Ohio Falls. This was the spot where Lewis and Clark came together before starting their momentous journey. I felt immersed in local history as I gazed upon the Ohio River. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and biking near the cabin though we didn’t have time to explore. I highly recommend a visit to this park if you are in Louisville and are interested in local history. Perhaps you will be inspired to read Allan Eckert’s, That Dark and Bloody River.

My husband and I decided to attend the Saturday Night Fever Sunday Matinee Performance last week. The play was wonderful with very talented performers. They also doubled as staff who served attendees and took care of everything else. Food was very good, hot and fresh, typical of buffet food. Fried chicken, carving board turkey, catfish, chicken Alfredo pasta, scalloped potatoes, corn, carrots, salad bar, etc. Desserts and alcoholic beverages are at an extra cost and served table side. All other drinks included in the price of admission. Reasonable prices. Check their website. We stayed overnight at a nearby hotel (many choices). This was a wonderful weekend for us. Check the other performances. We will be there!

We've lived in the area 23 yrs, we've driven down the interstate past the lakes thousands of times, never bothered to stop, or even consider going there, never have been a fan of paylakes. My mistake. One thing you'll see from the interstate is a beautiful 40 acre lake, the large lake, and mowed well kept grounds. Sunday, memorial day weekend, my wife, 2 sons and granddaughter decided to give it a shot since we had plenty of bait from the previous weekends excursion to patoka lake. Myself, wife and one son arrived around 9 am, stopped at the office/bait and tackle as instructed on the way in. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was a happy smiling face welcoming us to kopps lakes, a well stocked neat clean bait and tackle shop. I spoke with the lady about a rather scathing, vulgar review a gentleman, like use that term loosely, had posted on their Facebook page the night before. Since this is a family oriented business and children look at their f/b I thought they needed to know. More on this later. Paid our admission, was told the fishing was really good the night before and earlier but it had slowed a little. That's fine, fish eat when they want. We stayed until 10 pm, never got a bite from a catfish but did catch some bluegill, watched our 3 y.o. granddaughter catch her first fish, learn to bait a hook and try to cast a paw patrol fishing pole which would've made the price of admission worth it if it cost $1000.00. We tried several baits we had, a few lures, no luck. We saw several people catching nice cats thruout the day, but one lady with I believe her elderly father seemed to be catching a fish with every few casts from both the large and small lake. After watching this for an hour our son couldn't take it and asked her what bait she was using, there was our problem, wrong bait. As the bait shop was out of the fishes favorite cuisine, it was later in the afternoon, we had none of the homemade baits many of the other regulars were using, information they all were happy to share, unusual in itself, we decided to catch some blue gill, have fun watching our granddaughter, and spend time together as a family. Now, as for the above, if your some super angler that catches world records with every cast, your going to be disappointed,if you think the fish are going to just jump into your arms, not happening. The owners nor employees have an "easy" button for you to use to make fish bite. If i caught fish everytime I put a line in the water I'd be a pro tour multi millionaire icon. Fish bite when they want, what they want, if you figure out a way to make them bite when YOU want, on what YOU want, better market it. As with all fishing, timing, bait, presentation, weather, a little luck are key. What you will find at kopps, a well maintained pair of lakes, full of fish, well maintained grounds, plenty of waste receptacles emptied daily, constant monitoring of the grounds, probably the cleanest restrooms of any outdoor business I've ever visited, not outhouses or porta potties, plenty of parking, picnic tables, huge smoker and air conditioned kitchen at the shelter house available for rent. Plenty of room for fishing, we were really surprised at the LG lakes size, the small lake is really nice as well, both connected thru a culvert under the road. Shade trees and roofed area I believe for handicapped anglers tho the whole property is handicap accessible. Overall, very nice, family oriented, available for large groups, I suggest you visit their website or f/b page. The only thing I would caution against for people with small children especially, there are geese that frequent the lakes, and with geese comes goose poop landmines. Keep an eye on little one or they'll find some new toys to play with, yes it happens. Don't be mad at the geese tho, just because they get in free ,leave poop behind, I doubt they'll outfish you, unless your the idiot posting obscenities on their f/b, lol.

Clarksville Strike and Spare

Reviewed By emhyn72515 - Illinois, United States

We had an afternoon free during our trip to Louisville and found this gem near our Clarksville hotel (see my other reviews!!). It was just what we needed! First, arcades often feel grimy and crowded, but we did not have that experience! The entire facility was very clean and because of its large, open layout, there was plenty of room to move about. We had a group of 6 and spent around $100. This included two games of bowling and drinks for everyone, as well as 4 armbands for our children which included unlimited skating, laser tag, and bumper cars. I really felt like this was a great value for the hours of play, laughter, memories, and variety. My only recommendation would be to have a little more seating for the parents who are just observing. The couches at the bowling lanes were AMAZING, but most lanes were full with bowlers, so they weren't available to take a rest and the tables were limited. A few benches or comfortable chairs throughout would be a nice addition. Clarksville is very lucky to have such a well-run family center - AND BONUS, they serve alcohol for Mommy and Daddy!! :)
