Wihan Thep Sathit Phra Ki Ti Chaloem

Reviewed By oh-no-tabi - Bangkok, Thailand

My mother lives in Pattaya but I only came to know about this place recently. It's a beautiful and special Chinese temple. Locals go there to pray to God, believing that it helps improve their unlucky year.
No entry fee. Big parking available just opposite the temple. I suggest you combine with a trip to Pattaya or Bangsaen. There are plenty of good and reasonable priced seafood restaurants nearby. You can visit the temple in late morning then enjoy your lunch at one of these restaurants.

Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Reviewed By dragonlady31964 - Victoria

I was disappointed in this zoo. They had pig racing which I thought was over rated and really not interesting to me. The crocodiles were so docile they didn't seem alive, two girls in my group wanted to feed them and they were not interested!! The staff had to coach the crocodiles to get them active to eat. The crocodile show was corny which was really just a show of guys sliding up to and putting their heads in their mouths. You have the opportunity to have a photo with one and many queued up. You could also have a photo with a tiger cub, but it was very rushed. The lion show really was just a circus show most of us have seen more times than enough, the usual jumping through a fire hoop. The elephant show was the most entertaining of all the shows. I did not like the tiger enclosures as they looked like all concrete and you couldn't get a good look at them. All the commentating was in Thai, so we couldn't understand a word of what was said. If you don't like animal circuses, don't bother with this zoo, there are better places to go.

Treasure Hill Golf And Country Club

Just played the course second time. Knowing already something about the holes gives the idea how to go for them. Course is in reasonable shape, layout very good, caddies a little bit slowly going but they seem to know the course and greens. Clubhouse ok but needs updating. Altogether, nice golfing day. Recommended warmly.

Que du plaisir de faire ce parcours de golf miniature. Le tout est magnifiquement entretenu et très bien décoré. Les prix sont corrects et on en a pour son argent. Nous avons passé un bon moment de détente après avoir profité de la plage.

Ang Sila Old Market 133 Years

Reviewed By David B - Rayong, Thailand

Ang Sila is one of the “attractions” featured on the photographic billboards arching the highways as you drive into Chonburi Province.
Its fame rests in its history as a stone mason community, and in particular the production of high quality mortars and pestles.
But unless you are looking to buy a mortar and pestle it is not worth going out of your way because it is just a street lined with stalls one after another selling the same mortar and pestles and some very tacky souvenirs.
However, I did go because since my last visit I somehow lost the pestle to my mortar and needed to replace it.

Bang Saen Beach

Located approximately 13 kilometers from the city of Chonburi, this popular beach features seafood and drink vendors, deck chair rentals and fresh water bathing.

Was not really impressed with this beach, jammed with loungers on some sections, better from the traffic circle north as there is beach between the water & chairs. The water can be clear or murky depending on the day, also lots of trash also. Visited it once, no plan to come back.

Bang Pra Reservoir

It's a nice and quiet place very close to Si Racha and within easy reach from Pattaya. Apart from cycling track, there's not too much to see or do, infrastructure is still underdeveloped, almost no places to sleep or eat. Definitely not a must see in the near future unless something starts to happen over there.

“Different”. That is how best to describe this place, with large scale graphic representations (i.e statues) of all the punishments that exist in the afterlife for your transgressions whilst living, along with other representations of the life of Buddha. Signs in both English and Thai so you can follow what is going on. Whilst over the top and interesting you may want to think twice about taking younger children. Having said that there were a number of young school trips going through the garden whilst we were there.
The grounds also include a pond with fish and tortoises which you can feed (of course) and the tortoises can get quite animated, literally climbing over each other to get at the food being offered

Khao Sam Muk

This "mountain" has several great viewpoints and is the home of various monastical establishments and in true Thai tradition they allow and feed the local animals - this means that place is overrun with monkeys.....as you drive into the "park" there are people selling bags of fruit for tourists to feed to these already stuffed yet greedy creatures......Anywhere you stop the monkeys will swarm all over your car and try to "steal" or eat anything - I've seen them remove a wiring loom from under a car.
these animals have no fear of humans and are potentailly aggressive.........one would hope that someone would address this problem which ruins an otherwise great beauty spot.
