Displays include Dale Velzey's original 1950's templates and planer, an original Makaha Skateboard, the first day edition of the Duke Stamp from both Huntington Beach and Waikiki, signed posters from numerous surfing legends, a signed poster from the Wooden Year's exhibit opening at the International Surfing Museum, a set of Rick Griffin drawings, plus paintings and photos from artists and surf photographers from the East and West Coast. Nice easy trail for all ages and dogs as well. At one point it forks, both trails dead end, so you need to double back. There are benches along the way if you want to sit and take in the views. It is a little difficult to find. Park in the Tot Lot, if facing the playground turn around, you will see a white fence,go down steps so you are on the other side of fence and turn right. After a few minutes you will see the sign for trail and boardwalk.

I will suggest this is a place you would want to go. W even had our very own person who was out there with us just in case. I cant remember the gentleman name but he was very cool and was great on the jet ski! Thanks DMV

The Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum

A turn-of-the-century railway museum featuring photos and other related memorabilia.

Reviewed By RemaFuerte

We were in town after biking the Chesapeake Bay Railway Trail and decided to see the museum. It's small but full of fascinating local history I'd never heard of. At the turn on the century (1900-1935ish) Chesapeake Beach was a destination to rival Atlantic City and Coney Island with about 5,000 visitors a day in the summer. Who knew? The railroad was built specifically to funnel the crowds in from DC. Plenty of photographs and artifacts. The museum volunteer was very helpful and gave us a real appreciation of what we were seeing. We spent over an hour, there was so much to look at. Really enjoyed our visit. There's a small electric train garden and a scavenger hunt for kids. Parking is tight until the giant parking garage is completed across the street.

Breezy Point Beach

Reviewed By COTraveller33 - Silver Spring, United States

Stopped in today for something to do during spring break with the kids. Short (1 hr) drive from Silver Spring. Easy paved walk from parking lot to the beach. The parking lot is small, so plan for that. The beach is relatively small - and broken into two sections, divided by a small creek. Be mindful that there are a few non-venomous snakes around the creek and the far rocks. The key draws here are shallow, gentle water, shaded portions of the beach and fossilized shark tooth hunting. Older kids / teens can walk way out (100+ yards) into the bay and only be waist deep. Pros: short walk Cons: No facilities or picnic tables Would recommend: Yes Would re-patronize: Soon

My family and I have always loved coming to this beach to look for fossils, shark teeth, and other cool shells. There is always something new to explore! It can get very busy with people trying to avoid the CB and NB crowds in the summer, but generally is less crowded than the other beaches. You'll always find something cool to take home with you!
