Chantilly is a census-designated place (CDP) in western Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 23,039 at the 2010 census. Chantilly is named after an early-19th-century mansion and farm, which in turn took the name of an 18th-century plantation that was located in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The name "Chantilly" originated in France with the Château de Chantilly, about 25 miles north of Paris.

Even if you don’t support the 2nd Amendment the history of firearms is spectacular. Those who enjoy firearms will be amazed at the inventory and match grade guns on display along with write ups and brief history of the weapons on display.
If you have ever just seen in a book guns this museum gives you up close looks of weapons from their inception.
Make sure you a lot three or more hours as you wonder the museum at your own pace and get a history lesson along your tour.

This is just a wonderful place. It has a walking tour for the 1st Battle of Manassas, and a driving tour of the 2nd battle. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

We used to bring our kids there when they were little. Seeing that Frying Pan Farm Park is still thriving makes me happy. Have great memories going in the past.

This museum is amazing! I even prefer it to the Air and Space museum on the national mall. It has the most amazing aircraft, including the Concorde, Space Shuttle Discovery, and even the Enola Gay. It's a real stroll through history. Don't miss the Blackberry (I think that's what it is called.) It flew from coast to coast in about an hour in the 1960s. I wonder what amazing feats today's secret technology is able to do. Very entertaining and highly recommended.

We tried this winery last weekend for the first time, in part because of its close proximity to Washington. The Winery boasts an extensive tasting area, plus high and low tables for more extended wine tasting and light snacks. The grounds of the winery include vines for the winery’s Norton grapes, picnic tables, and additional space for special events such as weddings.
The wines in our tasting ranged from good to very good, and the staffers with whom we spoke were friendly and responsive.

Small visitor center that offers tour of Sully House on the hour. We arrived 20 minutes after the hour and opted for a self guided tour of the grounds. A free map was available with explanations of the history and buildings. Walk included outbuildings as well as a garden and small cemetery which also held the remains of 3 children. The setting itself was quite remarkable -- preserved right off a major highway. My daughter and I both remarked that it was ironic that several hundred years ago this existed without the highway, the jetliners coming overhead into Dulles and the high tension poles carrying power to surrounding communities as well as businesses. All in all, a pleasant way to spend an hour or so walking, enjoying nature and history.

We joined our son, his wife and our grandson to Cox Farms the other day. It's easy to get to and parking is plentiful. Admission is reasonable and the entire staff is always polite. There is plenty to do for all ages. They have a variety of slides that were a big hit with our grandson. Don't miss the hay ride!

Five adults trying an Escape Room for the first time. While we did not "escape" in time, we found our time trying great fun! The guys working the room and desk couldn't have been nicer or more encouraging, answered all questions when booking and very helpful in explaination while we were there also!

There are all kinds of shows and exhibits here, but I went most recently for the National Capital Cat Show. It's basically a warehouse with restrooms, an entry desk area, and two food stalls that aren't very exciting. The rest of the space can get organized depending on what's held there.
Lots of parking space, but finding the right building the first time can require a bit of searching, since the street signs aren't good.

The road in and out is very narrow. Trees on the public road are not trimmed to accommodate RV's, and as a result, we now have scratches along the side with of our Motor Home. Parking the RV can be challenging due to the location...MoreThank you for the review! There is a company trimming the trees along the public road outside of the park right now, so this issue has been addressed. We will take your other concerns into consideration when looking at planning future projects and staff training.
