The 10 Best Things to do in Centre, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur

December 5, 2021 Claudia Navarrete

The deep blue waters of the Cote d’Azur are the dramatic backdrop for elegant Nice. Breathe in the fresh Mediterranean air as you stroll the waterfront promenade, or get an eagle eye of the whole city from atop Castle Hill. The pedestrians-only Place Rossetti is the heart of the city, with a grand fountain, vibrant buildings, and the beautiful Sainte-Réparate cathedral giving it a provincial French feel.

I have taken Ayurvedic massages in many countries including India, but this one will stay with me for a long time. The soothing hands of Laetitia, the soft vibe of the place, the gentle mantras, it all contributed to a calming and uplifting experience on every level of my being. I would definitely come again.

Old Town

This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

Large Old Town area incorporating a wonderful flower market, small shops in narrow, historic winding alleys and streets selling anything and everything, thoroughly enjoyable time with great cafes/restaurants full of locals enjoying coffee, snacks and meals.

We walked through and by this park several times. It is a nice calm place in the middle of the city for walking, sitting and people watching. The water mirror was a source of entertainment, as the children and the birds played in it.

Avenue Jean Medecin

This popular street is known for its excellent shopping opportunities and its outdoor cafés.

One of the busiest street in Nice France. It is where the Tram line 1 lies as well that will bring you from one end of the city to the other. Tram Line 2 ends there from the Airport or from CADAM. It’s worth visiting Jean Medecin avenue you will find loads of shops and restaurants there, the famous NiceToile Shopping Mall is there too, Notradame Church is there too. Not far from the avenue you will find Train Station “Gare de Nice Ville” that will bring you to anywhere in Europe. Not far from there you will find the old Train Station “Gare de Sud” that was converted into a Food Court. You should visit Gare de Sud especially at night food and music is a good combo. Thank you very much I enjoyed my stay there.

Phoenix Parc Floral de Nice

Fantastic floral and animal park as well as the beautiful Museum of Asian Art of the city of Nice. 5 hectare of greenery just in front of Nice airport. And the Cote Jardin bar is waiting for you on its terraces for lunch in the sun. Free entrance for children - 12 years, and 3 € to 5 € for adults.

Reviewed By flyingporcupine - Oxford, United Kingdom

We visited here in August on a trip to Nice. The park is observing social distancing so mask on throughout (and some attractions such as the petting farm closed off), and if you follow Google directions you may end up walking the long way round the outside to find the entrance! I couldn’t believe it was only 5 euros per adult to enter, which was great value money for what turned out to be a day’s entertainment. Animal wise you certainly get your fill of stick insects and turtles :) don’t expect a full zoo here, just enough to get entertained. A very enjoyable stop!

Thank you David, Chemsy, Miguel, Kevin, Fabien, Baba and rest of the dream team of Castel for a fantastic 16 day holiday in the best beach club in Nice! The welcome and service is beyond fantastic, the views over the whole Baie des Anges are magical. The ambiance is chic but relaxed , cosmopolitan and very friendly. Rosé is plentiful and delicious, so is the food. With the renovation the place, with classy restrooms looks even better than before. Surprisingly the snorkelling by the cliffs is amazing, with lots of fish, including a friendly ray, squid and even cormorans diving after fish! I couldn’t find a better place for a day visit or longer stay. David & co, can’t wait to see you and the new cocktail bar/restaurant with unbeatable views in 2021!
