Castlederg (earlier Caslanadergy, from Irish: Caisleán na Deirge, meaning "castle on the Derg") is a village in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It lies on the River Derg and is near the border with County Donegal. It stands in the townlands of Castlesessagh and Churchtown, in the historic barony of Omagh West and the civil parish of Urney. The village has a ruined castle and two ancient tombs known as the Druid's Altar and Todd's Den. It had an estimated population of 2,935 people in 2008.

Quiet spot with plenty of castle history onsite, nice walking path beside the River Derg, with easy excess to the Derg bridge. It also has a playground for the kids. With plenty of food options steps away on the main street..

Divided into two distinct sections the first area covers classic cars, motorcycles, diecast models and enamel signs and every 'BIG BOY'S TOY' imaginable. Take a step back in time to the 1950's and remember when petrol was sold in gallons and you could still afford to buy it. The second part of the collection takes you back to the dark day's of World War Two and represents one of the largest private collections of militaria in the UK. Philip is passionate about all 3 topics, and it reflects in his commentary while escorting visitors.
I tried to call in the a.m. and again at lunch, but he was out for personal business. So, we jumped in the rental and drove from outside of Enniskillen. We lucked out, as he had recently returned, and more than willing to open up to show us around. Some of the autos are 1997 BMW, 1978 Porsche 911, 1980 MG Roadster, a Mazda 50th anniversary MC5, and 1953 MG, and others.
Motorcycles include a Harley Davidson Dyna, 1971 Triumph, German WWII type, Russian built with sidecar, and 1993 Kawasaki "CHiPS". Lots of leather clothing and memorabilia as well.
We completed our tour with a special WWII room. So many authentic uniforms, weapons (deactivated), sabers, bayonets, helmets, medals, from various participating countries with emphasis on one.

In Newtownstewart Library there is lots of books to pick from. In the library there are junior books, seniour books and adult books. There are lots of computers. There is a toilet for disabled and not disabled toilets. There is 2 entrances to get in one of them was to get in from the car park and the other is from down the town, on both sides to get in disabled people can get in to.

Pat guided us around this quaint museum. A lovely piece of printing history. Hard to find, and only open on Saturdays between 10 and 3, but worth making a plan to see. Ask at the coffee shop for directions.

Myself, my mother and my three children attended one of the days of Christmas past events. It was fabulous. Enjoyed by my 1 and 3 year olds and my 8 year old too which is a hard thing to find.
There was alot of interaction, the good old Christmas stuff we all love and some things a little out of the ordinary.
I will be recommending this event in future.

Harry Avery's Castle doesn't really look like one but it is a rare example of a stone castle built by a Gaelic Irish chief, although its origins and history are not certain. It is associated with Henry Aimhréidh O'Neill (Harry Avery), and is definitely named after him. The front of the castle is visible as two D shaped towers. The castle is standing on a small hill in a paddock. You can go through the gate and have a look, the views of the surrounding countryside are nice.

The Central bar opened on 4th April 2008 we are known for our friendly staff and brilliant atmosphere and a Cosy open fire. We have a function room upstairs for private party`s ideal for 21st birthdays, hen party`s or Cocktail classes. So have a nice cold pint by the fire.

Absolutely love this place, cocktails + shot menus are great.
Been a few times with a few mates and had a ball, staff are a delight and obviously love the job.
The interior has been recently done up we found out and it looks fantastic.
5/5 for simple reasons. I will be back

Ate here recently mid morning there were only a few people in we ordered tea/coffee and scones it took for ever. They appeared to be short staffed with only one person taking orders and doing everything else. The food and beverages were good but management need to pay attention and employ adequate staff or people will vote with their feet and not come back unfortunately like ourselves.
