Plaza de Recreo Santiago R. Palmer

This plaza originated at the end of the 18th century when, what was before the village of San Sebastian del Barrero, became what is now the town of Caguas. However, it was in 1906 when the plaza got its name, in honor of the Puerto Rican politician Santiago R. Palmer. Today, this plaza, center of Caguas, is surrounded by establishments. In addition, the plaza counts with fountains and sculptures, the floral clock, and a carousel for the children. Come and have a delicious local coffee under the breezy trees with a view of the local Cathedral Sweet Name of Jesus. Special activities are hosted at every last Friday of the month.
