This place was so authentic and educational...nice low cost way to learn about the area and its history. With time to walk some trails, and read the interpretive plaques, a family or couple can really get enjoyment and an education too! Don't miss the ruins!

Waterfront Park

While walking in a local park is not usually high on my list of things to do on vacation, my husband and I took an early morning stroll here and were totally enchanted. Snaking along the intercoastal waterway and through moss coveted live oaks, every step is a delight. Large fishing pier, benches, rest rooms and a playground for the kids. Herons and egrets abound and are happy to pose for photographs.

Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area

We visited here on quite possibly the ugliest day of the year - whipping winds, freezing temperatures and constant rain...still the BEST of our 8 stops of our trip!

Geocaching was great despite the elements!

Bathrooms were by far the BEST of any state park...we didn’t appreciate it until we kept traveling!

Sites were awesome with perfect layouts!

We will definitely be back and hope for better weather!

The Flagler Beachfront Winery is total awesomeness!!! Ken and Kelly, the owners, are the perfect couple to run this winery, as they are always welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They make their wine, which is sooo good, and you can have a glass and take home a bottle! They are well known for their wine slushies...lots of combinations so you can find your own perfect flavor, and so refreshing on a hot summer day. There are a variety of meat and cheese boards to choose from, if you're hungry, and don't forget the wine ice cream for dessert. All of this, plus an ocean view...doesn't get any better than that!! Highly recommend!!!

Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park

Reviewed By diaq - Palm Harbor, Florida

First, this there are two state parks in this area with similar names. This review is for BULOW PLANTATION Ruins historic state park. NOT Bulow Creek state park.
When you turn down the road for the main entrance it is a one-lane dirt road, but don't turn around, in about a mile you will reach the park entrance. There is a $4 per car entrance fee. You can drive the historic sugar mill ruins or take a short hike to the ruins. The plantation house and cottages require a lot of imagination as the "ruins" are just a few piles of rocks. But the sugar mill did not disappoint. The area was very well marked with information signs. You follow a path and the signs provide lots of information about how the mill worked. It was very informative and we learned a lot. There is an area with other old artifacts that gives information out the people who lived on the plantation and the effects of the Seminole Indian wars. Great history lesson, we really enjoyed this park.

Flagler Beach Historical Museum

As a full time year-round resident of Flagler Beach, I manage to still stop by and visit the Historical Museum at least a few times a year. Whenever I have out-of-town friends visit its one of the first places I take them; they all enjoy it.
While the museum is cozy and small (just like our town) it gives a good perspective of the development of FB over the past 100+ years.
