We took the ferry on a Sunday in August and went to the beach and hiked. It was extremely beautiful. The ferry from Portonovo cost 14 euros round trip. We drove to Portonovo and bought our tickets at the booth and there was a place to park.
As the ferry approached the island there was a beautiful beach off to the right, 30 minutes walk. It turned out to be a nudist beach, which was kind of amusing or uncomfortable, depending on how you looked at it. Maybe about a third of people on the beach where in various stages of undress, and it seems that the farther down the beach you go the more nudist it becomes. There are a couple of Beaches closer to the dock that aren't nudist.
We walked 4-5 miles on the trails on the spine of the island and it was wonderful. Hilly but not very difficult; very beautiful.

Recientemente hemos obtenido el open water diver en este centro buceo. Solo tenemos buenas palabras, en especial para Hugo, con quien hicimos todas las inmersiones. Nos ayudó un montón e hizo que todo fuese más fácil.

Great beach, especially during the week - on weekends it can be a bit crowded. Clean, white sand. The bar at the beach is great and the people who run it are wonderful. Plenty of hammocks, chairs, umbrellas to rent, as well as paddle boats.

Las vistas desde aquí son maravillosas, tienes la opción de subirte a unas rocas para sacar unas buenas fotos. También está la escultura de la caracola.

Muy cerquita lan, al otro lado de la carretera, te puedes internar por un caminito que te sumerge en un bosque con un castillo pequeñito con muchísimo encanto y misterio. Luego puedes continuar por el camino más hacia delante con ruta para correr o andar en bicicleta.

Lovely area to walk around go to Beaches. Advise was take a picnic which we did as not much available on island . But there is a restaurant where ferry arrives and a bar and shop at camp site as well.
If booking via hotel which we did be aware you still need to go to booking office with receipt to get tickets for ferry . Ticket office located near leaving point of ferry give yourself plenty time as very busy . Lovely day .

We visited on a sunny, summer evening and almost had the place to ourselves. Trails through the heather lead to rocky outcrops where you can just stand and stare and feel the wind in you hair, and watch the sun set slowly into the sea. The views along the coast and out to the Islands are fantastic.
