Your chance to drive a real race car on the same track the NASCAR pros do! We provide the instruction, the cars and safety gear, you just have to bring your Need for Speed!

This was the most incredible experience I have ever had. Everything was so thorough and the people involved were very professional and extremely friendly. The instructor "Art" during the drivers meeting had a way of making you feel confident and comfortable about everything that was about to take place. I will DEFINITELY do this again. When my friends asked me what it was like, all I could say was " it's the most fun you will ever have with your clothes on!" You only live once, so live it well! You will not regret this.

W J Hayes State Park

Reviewed By JerryLynn M - Hooversville, Pennsylvania

We stayed at this campground for 1 night- it was a layover for us on our way to Manistee. Thank goodness- it was a real party campground. Cars were everywhere, children were everywhere... it was kind of dangerous traveling through the campground because we had to go off the road to avoid hitting illegally parked cars and children who would not move off the camp road. It was crazy!

Showers were private, but kind of on the claustrophobic end of the spectrum.

Park is close to Michigan Speedway- about 2 miles or so down the road.

I can say it would be a great place if you are into partying!

We drove about 150 miles (each way) to see Michigan's reputedly largest animated holiday light show. It was nice, but the radio channel only played a few songs and little information about the production. Would I go again? Probably not. I enjoy the night lights at Bronner's in Frankenmuth more. On the plus side, it is a neat experience to realize that part of the exhibit is on the track itself. Am I glad I went. Yes. Another big bonus is that it is easy to pull over to the side to take photos without holding up cars behind you. But can't think how it might be different another time. At $20 per car load - and we were only two people - not such a good deal. Winding Creek in Mishawaka only aske $5 per carload, and the displays are definitely better overall.

Walker Tavern

Reviewed By Debbie K - Adrian, Michigan

This site is a relatively interesting place to visit but there is not a lot to it. It is part of the Michigan State Park System located in the Cambridge State Historic Park. The location at the corner of US 12 and MI 50 is easy to find. The park requires the Michigan Recreation Passport (cost $11) in order to park on-site (this allows entrance and parking for all MI State parks). The Visitor Center, a partially-restored house that was built by the most recent owner of the property before it was turned over to the state, had a few interesting exhibits that described the owners of the property after the Walkers. The Tavern is a couple hundred yards across open green space from the Visitor Center and includes a period barn. On the day I visited, there was a guided tour which lasted about 20 or 25 minutes. The guide gave a good description of the barn and property along with the history of the Walker family and the Tavern during its days of operation. There were also several placards on display throughout both the barn and the tavern describing aspects of interest to the visitor. The Tavern was originally a farmhouse built in the early 1830s and purchased by Sylvester and Lucy Walker in 1843. They turned it into a Tavern to take advantage of the traffic on US 12, which was the main road between Detroit and Chicago. The tavern apparently turned out to be quite popular as the tour and placards will suggest. The popularity was so great that the Walkers built a new, larger brick Tavern across Route 12 from the original structure and used the latter as their home thereafter. The tavern was sold by Lucy Walker after her husband's death in 1865 to Francis Dewey. Dewey was a stagecoach driver who frequented the Tavern. After Dewey's death, the place was sold to Reverend Frederick and Edna Hewitt who turned it into an antique shop and museum. Hewitt was a friend of Henry Ford who visited the Tavern twice. The property was passed to the Hewitt's children with their daughter inheriting the original house and their son the brick tavern. The Hewitt's daughter deeded the original frame structure to the state. The brick tavern remained with the Hewitt's son and is still owned by a descendant, who is reportedly turning it into a B&B. After the visit to the Tavern, I went to the cemetery down the road at St. Michael's and All Saints Episcopal Church to see the Walker's graves. Overall, it was an interesting visit but there was only so much on display. It did not require a lot of time to see everything. Apparently, there are special events that take place on site including a Farmer's Market most Sundays during the season the park is open. This might be a good place to stop if you are passing through but I would not go out of the way to see this attraction.

This course is owned by Mike Hill a former PGA tour professional. His daughter Kristin runs the place and this is an excellent course for everyone. It isn't long yardage wise but the greens are the best in Jackson county and the whole course is manicured to a tee. An excellent value for the money spent.

This was a long but worthwhile unforgettable experience. My husband did this for his 60th birthday. You go through lessons before actually going out onto the track, I think it was a little intimidating once you are out there on that track, how fast will you really have the nerve to drive around those curves?

I was given a ten lap ride for my 50th birthday and it could not have been a better, more exciting gift.

The initial instruction was very good. I had some idea of what wnt on, but the instructor ("He's Special") gave you enough information to drive at the top of your comfort zone and not get into trouble. He teaches you where and how to pass and make th most of your runs.

Then you go on-track in a street car and realize that what he has told you is right on the money. The instructors here also talk you through the process and you get to see where you should be making your turns, etc.

Then you get out on the track. It was one of the most exciting things I have done (not counting being a former Army Helicopter Pilot). It gives you new respect for all those guys out there making left turns for 400 or 500 miles.

I thought I was really doing well, pushing my limits, keeping the "pucker factor" up. My "fans" told me I was really hauling. then when I got my times from my "official timer" (my son), I realized I was just averaging about 119mph per lap. I figure I may have hit 130-135mph on the straights and about 100 - 105mph in the turns.

When you realize that Nascar drivers are qualifying at 189, it really makes you think.

Do it, do it, do it.

Anyone who has wanted to try skydiving and hasn't should definitely go! I can't even explain in words the adrenaline rush I got. I jumped from 18,000 feet and Rob was absolutely amazing! Such a great jump buddy, explained everything really well, and I felt completely safe.
They are now located in Napoleon, MI but it was well worth the drive out there. Book now!!!!
