You really can't beat the fact that this spa is build on a long wide hill that ends on a beautiful lake with the Eastern Townships' rolling landscape in the background. And the hill and lake are all part of the spa's facilities! It doesn't get much better than having a relaxation cycle floating lazily on inflatable beds on the lake...
The frills I'm referring to in my title are free refills of chlorophyll or hibiscus infused water, marshmallows and a fire for roasting, on-demand guided tours of the premises and art Exhibitions on its walls.
The pools and saunas are fantastic but quite typical for a Scandinavian Spa. They have unique relaxation rooms like a mini movie theater and aquarium room.
The restaurant is top notch as well although the first time we went we waited a long time because apparently they had run out of an ingredient but didn't tell us and went to get more.
Some misc. notes:
- In the winter, the entire hillside and lake is understandably closed, so you're missing out on almost 50% of the experience.
- They don't pipe the new age music too overtly like other places might
- Weekday summer hours are short
- The movies in the theatre are nature documentaries which is less relaxing if you happen on the lions-eating-gazelles scene
- The aquarium could use more fish
- Beware of snoring clients

Bromont Ski Area

Ski Bromont is a great 4-season resort waiting for you to discover it! In winter, we offer: 450 acres of skiable terrain with 155 trails and glades covering 7 hillsides, the largest lit skiable area in America, 6 snow parks, 9 ski lifts, more than 1,200 snow guns, and guaranteed excellent snow conditions day and night. In summer, our magnificent Water Park offers more than 20 activities for the whole family, including swirling slides, a heated wave pool and thrilling alpine luges: the whole family will enjoy a tidal wave of fun! Also on site are 21 downhill mountain biking trails for all levels (accessible by chairlift), a superb bike park, wallrides... and much more!

I normally love this place, but tonight’s Nuit Blanche was a disaster. Overcrowded, key chair lifts unserviceable and those that were working constantly stopping (one for 45 minutes!). It was a shame to see the ski runs empty of skiers while the queues for the lifts were 20-30 minutes. Returned home early :-(

Musee au Chocolat

We visited Musee au Chocolat during family day weekend in February. They were full in the main dining room but they set us up in the Museum itself as overflow tables, which was very spacious and fun.
The breakfast was amazing. The waffles with raspberries and chocolate was our favourite, followed closely by the apple and Cheddar crepe. I would not order eggs benedict or a regular eggs and bacon meal. These did not stand out fr us.
The chocolate boutique is full of amazing treats, the hot chocolate with spices on a spoon that you melt into a cup of milk is amazing, as were the chocolate cherries.

My wife and I took our 8-year-old to Ski Bromont Water Park on the Sunday of the Labour Day Weekend this year. I can say, briefly and with confidence, that this place has it figured out when it comes to running a water park. Here are just a few of the very positive considerations. 1) parking - tons of parking, all free 2) on-line admission - worth it, and easy - you get a discount, too. 3) age-appropriate rides - our 8-year-old wasn't quite tall enough to do all the rides, but there were plenty to keep him (and us) entertained 4) picnic areas - the park is full of picnic areas, some with large sun awnings. Lots of picnic tables, waste receptacles, washrooms. You can easily bring your own lunch and take your cooler to and from your car 5) Lockers - for $10.00 (with $4.00 refundable) you can rent one big locker that will hold all of your family's stuff (not a big cooler - but all your clothes, towels, and so on). They supply the lock so you don't need to bring one. 6) paved walkways - no need for footwear! The walkways are smoothly paved. They can get a bit slippery, though 7) short wait times - even on busy days, the park advertises wait times of no longer than 15 minutes - pretty decent. 8) variety - the rides are varied - there are individual slides, tunnels, tube rides, group tube rides, a zip-line, a mat ride, a wave pool, some tiny slides for really small kids, a "dry" luge run, a shallow paddling and spray zone pool 9) safety - lots of life-guards, enforced delays on entering slides, and no really risky rides 10) on-site amenities - you can buy food, swimming stuff, and even grab a beer on-site. Prices are a little steep but not outrageous. 11) bilingual staff - even if you are a total Anglophone you will have no problems communicating at the park. 12) attractive design and good maintenance - even after a full season of operation, the park looked neat and tidy, with nice flower beds and colorful, well-presented rides 13) short distances between rides - the park is fairly compact, and it doesn't take long to get from one ride to another. In most cases, several rides of differing degrees of difficulty are grouped in one place.
I can't think of any real draw-backs worth mentioning. True dare-devil thrill-seekers might find this park a bit tame, but it isn't really geared towards that sort of user. It is very much a family-oriented experience. The wave pool gets pretty crowded and due to its design there are a couple of places in the pool that attract dense swarms of screaming children - notably along the left-hand wall, where the waves seem the biggest.

I had placed an order with Zayat Aroma on-line and decided to pick it up and spend a couple days in Bromont. Zayat Aroma essential oils are very pure and high quality and were recommended to me from another aromatherapist. When you walk into the store, you immediately smell a wonderful blend coming from the wood base diffuser. It’s very soothing and relaxing in the store and the staff are very knowledgeable. They have great suggestions and are more than happy to help you find what you need. It’s so nice to be able to smell each oil before purchasing it. The store was beautifully decorated for the holidays and we even enjoyed a glass of apple cider! Will definitely return!
