The Fox City PAC is an amazing facility in the heart of downtown Appleton. For a town of its size, it rivals almost all other similar venues in the state. We have been there multiple times for plays, musicals, concerts and speakers. There is virtually no bad seat in the house and the staff is always friendly. Parking can be a bit tricky near the PAC but it's easy to park on a side street and walk over. Centrally located near restaurants and bars for a stop before or after. The offerings are better than almost all other state venues often getting national tours before other locations in the state. It is a great place to catch a show or a concert.

Visited here on the first weekend in June where you get into the park for free every year. I haven't visited High Cliff State Park in almost twenty years and never knew how little I explored of it!! I usually only would bike up the REAL hill many years ago (the hill has changed a lot, not nearly as steep) and go swimming with friends. The first trail I hiked was the Indian Mound Trail, which is bbeeaauuttiiffuull. It literally takes you above part of the Niagara Escarpment, giving you a great view of some rock formations and cliffs. It is truly something I wasn't expecting!!! There are a few areas where you can slip down among those large boulders, but be super careful. The inland part of the trail is nice as well, showing the Indian Mounds and explaining why, when and how they were formed. It can be accessed from the road or Family Campground. You can access the Lime Kiln Trail when continuing south along the escarpment from Indian Mound Trail instead of turning left to continue on it. The stairs are fairly steep, but not bad. It is slippery when wet, as when I went. The trail is very very nice. You might see small streams which look like small waterfalls tumbling down the terrain to Lake Winnebago. The calming sound of the falling water is a great reason to stop and absorb the area. Of course you will see the Old Kiln Ruins at the end (beginning if you start from its parking lot)of trail. I really liked doing both trails at once, which takes about an hour altogether, depending how much you linger to take in the scenery. I strongly recommend checking out the High Cliff Post Office General Store, which has tours at 1:00pm by Cindy, the retired naturalist who has family history in the park every Saturday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Really neat stories. I took the Red Bird Trail, which has the statue of peacemaker Red Bird, as well as some areas along the escarpment. You climb the observation tower near the statue at the top of the park. You MUST check out the Butterfly Pond, which has beautiful wildflowers and birds. The birds are the star of the show here though. You can fish in the pond I guess. Finally, I took the Forest Management Trail, which has a few offshoot trails to take you to the cliffs, but wildflowers are the highlight here. Beware: if you take the long loop, there is an area where you may come across a large pool of water to wade through. Maybe six inches deep, especially after any rain. There is a horse, bike trail you can use as well. Overall, this park is a hidden little treasure of Wisconsin. Plan, visit, camp, take in the sights, sounds and smells here. You will be very happy you did so

LedgeStone Vineyards sits on the scenic Niagara Escarpment, south of De Pere, Wisconsin. The tasting room is a beautiful place to join a glass of wine and the outdoor space provides room to play yard games and enjoy the view. The owners are passionate about wine and sharing the story that each bottle has to give. Offering tastings on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as by the glass/bottle on Thursdays (as well as standard hours). We welcome kids and pups to enjoy the vineyard and to make yourself at home.

LedgeStone Vineyards has a comfortable tasting room with plenty of seating. At the tasting bar, they offered 6 wines; 3 whites and 3 reds. Two of the three reds were made from the estate grapes (hybrids developed to handle the colder weather). These wines carried the LedgeStone label. Other wines, including a decent Zin, are made from West Coast grapes and carry the Monarch Creek label. They also had at least one white that was not produced locally.
We visited on a Thursday evening in August. On Thursdays, they have live music on the back side of the winery. There was also a food truck serving BBQ. The lawn between the tasting room and vineyard was full of guests in camp chairs, enjoying the music with a bottle of wine. As we were not local and didn't have a camp chair, we chose to sit inside the tasting room at a table near the open windows.
Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable way to spend a Thursday evening after work.

Spent a couple hours walking the trails!
10 year old and 16 year old was along.
Well marked with boardwalk to walk along the waters edge! Trails were icy but that's part of the season! Eagles were magnificent!
We will return in spring! This is a place to experience every season!
Indoor exhibits are great!
Great place! The staff does a fabulous job!

I love Ledgeview. I walk my dogs at the park (leashed with a waste bag) as often as I'm able to make the time. The park has year around activities. Great hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country ski trails. The park includes several caves that can only be accessed with a guide. There's a wonderful, sturdy wooden tower with breathtaking views year around. I particularly enjoy the prairie grass trail in the summer is it depicts made up Wisconsin topography

I called Outagamie County Historical Society, they did not return a call or an email. All looks in great repair, paint intact, no broken windows, grass mown. But gardens and orchard untended, and there was no way to get inside. I'll try again this summer.

Wisconsin International Raceway (WIR) is a raceway a few miles east of Appleton.
They have racing on pavement, a ½ mile D shaped oval, a small ¼ mile track inside one side of the ½ mile track, a figure 8 track that uses part of the ¼ mile track and a drag strip off to one side of the ½ mile track. The facility has gravel and grass parking for spectators, bleachers, restrooms, and a variety of quick food, beverage and souvenir shops.
In addition to the bleachers WIR has grass seating where spectators can sit on their own lawn chairs or directly on the grass. They also have a area called the Dick Trickle pavilion that is separated from the rest of the spectator areas for private functions.
Several race drivers that made it big into Nascar have raced at this race track.
They have races most Thursday nights and drag strip events most Saturday nights over the summer. The race track spectators get to see time trials then a variety of different races, different types of cars in different classes then a feature race. The night often ends with a silly figure 8 race. After the race they often open the pits to spectators to come meet the teams, drives and get a close up meet and greet with all involved in the activities.
About three years ago the track went thru a lighting upgrade. Now nighttime racing has clear visibility for the drives and fans.
WIR does a lot to make this a fun, family friendly event.
The day I took these photos there were thunderstorms. The track changed the order of the events, moving the feature race earlier in the schedule. The feature finished just in time before the rain started, ending the racing for the evening. The track did everything they could to keep the fans in attendance informed of the pending weather.

Jeanne's is a small town bar. They make flame-broiled burgers with buttered and toasted buns that are delicious and under $5!

The course is well-groomed beautiful views and kind of that where it end .
I have golfed many years and could not figure out the tee boxes
the way they were marked with multi colored markers a blue and tan on the tee box at the same distance
I was at Fairways are beautiful but I could not find the markers the 200 the 150 or the 100 markers
the ones they had out there did not even make sense to me they were not properly color-coded to know where I am and what club I should use it.
In fairness to the course I talked to the management and they said they were not going to change anything so good luck have fun but it didn't make sense to me
