We arranged my son's birthday party over here. And this is an awesome place to do that. There is so much fun for the children, they can spent hours here, easily. There is indoor and outdoor a lot to do as you can also see on some of the pictures I will include. Parents can sit easily in or outside and have a drink or eat something. Children aged 4-12 will have the most fun here, although there is some to do for 2-3 years old. Adults have free entrance here! Children 2-12 pay 7,50 Euro.

We were there at the beginning of school break so we didn't need to make a reservation. Staffs were really friendly. The instructions were given and taken very seriously. The instructor walked with our sons (8 and 10) up the tower and did the demonstration also up there.
There are three stages to play. One high (in height) and difficult. Two lower and intermediate. Our kids did the high one. After finishing their course, they were rewarded with a very long zip line from the tower twice!
Various (reasonable priced!) drinks at the counter. Highly recommended for your outdoor fun! :D

Kempenmuseum De Acht Zaligheden

Visit Kempenmuseum de Acht Zaligheden and discover how the life of the impoverished Kempish smallholder has changed over the last 100 years. From smuggler to cigar maker to entrepreneur in the smartest region of the Netherlands. "A remarkable museum that links the past and present, both inside and outside. It's far more than a local museum," explains one enthusiastic visitor. Discover, delve, play and have fun at this interesting museum located just to the south-west of Eindhoven in the beautiful Kempen landscape. Voted the best day out in North Brabant by the ANWB and winner of the Museum Quarter Award in 2018. Ingenuity Discover how Kempish people lived and worked in an era during which farmers and peasants had barely enough to survive on out on the sparse moorlands. An era during which rapid industrial development spurred them into creativity. The museum demonstrates how the region overcame these difficult times to become one of the world's smartest regions.

This museum tells about local history, or rather culture, from 1850-1950. It is located in a former farm, which is partly decorated in the style of those days. There's a bedroom and a 'goei kammer' to show off the farmer's wealth, particularly to the mayor or pastor. An interesting detail is a small hidden space between the bedroom and the cellar, where people would hide during the German occupation, when the house was searched. Other rooms show a classroom, hygiene items, religious items. Outside there is a herbal garden, some sheep, some old outside games (beugelen and something like gaaibal), and two more buildings. One of the buildings contains indoor games, and the other is a large barn displaying workshops of a wagon maker, cigar factories, a wooden shoe maker, and a furniture maker. There's also some equipment used for keeping honey bees. It is all nice, especially the games. At the same time, many things are not that special, and one can see much the same in other local history museums, or in the cigar museum in nearby Valkenswaard. The game of beugelen can also be found in the open air museum in Arnhem (although I think one has to pay to play it there, and not in Eersel). I suspect that the museum is nicest when the different skills are performed live, on special occasions such as museum days.

Lommelse Sahara

Reviewed By Cl0verfields - Belgium

We enjoyed a nice afternoon at the Lommel Sahara which is situated in the province of Limburg (Belgium) near the Dutch border.
The area consists of an extensive coniferous forest mixed with a desert landscape and lake. The arid and sandy landscape came about as a result of gases emanating from a former zinc factory located there nearly 80 years ago. The lake is the result of sand mining. Forests were planted around the area to prevent further expansion. We took the "orange" route which led us past a viewing tower that was opened in 2014. After many stairs and steps we climbed 30 meters to enjoy some stunning views over the area.

Zoo Veldhoven

We were last here in August 2012 and thought it was a nice place to visit. This year we are again staying at Landal Het Vennenbos and so a repeat visit was necessary. So much has changed and for the better. The car park is more organized, as is the entrance. We got a discounted ticket on the day which was very welcome. A large number of the cages have been renovated and some removed, the zoo is being updated. The bird of prey section has had a massive improvement with what seems to be a flying area right down the centre. The birds seemed happy and alert in their sections. Definitely worth a visit.

As a skier I thought that I wouldn't enjoy it, however it was quite nice pootling down the slope. I appreciate that it wasn't at all challenging but children ski and my youngest I know really enjoyed the slope as it helped her increase her confidence.
Our friends tried the lessons and there was some success and some not.
I was advised that if you are a skier then the evenings are a good time to go, and the later on in the week you go then the slope gets more crowded.

It was not really nice weather when we're in the neighbourhood so we decided to visited this museum. You have to enter the museum through a cafe. We've never heard about this genius A. Schotel before. So we've learned new things about this painter that was famous because of his etching method besides his painting. The museum is such a livingroom but enough to see. It is small but outside, you can take a walk and follow the route seeing his work on the field.

Booked the basic tour which cost around €11. We were given a brief introduction as to how Bottle Distillery was born. The distillery was set-up and is run by a lovely couple who have a passion for what they do. Mark and his wife have created a unique attraction that is part-distillery and part-bar. The 'still' is the most beautiful piece of aparatus and is captivating to watch as you get a talk on how it all works. Really amazing piece of kit! But the proof is in the pudding, which brings us to the product which comes out of the still. They produce a selection of gorgeous Gins (the Winter Gin being my personal favorite. So much flavor!). The Beer Brandy and liqueurs are amazing. The tour included a tasting of any 3 from their product line, which we felt was generous. The tour stated 30 minutes, but we spent a total of 90 minutes with a lovely Gin & Tonic beforehand and sipping the samples after the tour. Wonderful establishment and I'd highly recommend. Easily the best €11 I've ever spent. Looking forward to seeing Orion Gin in the UK in a few years ;) Keep up the good work guys!
