Andria ([ˈandria] listen (help·info)) is a city and comune in Apulia (southern Italy). It is an agricultural and service center, producing wine, olives and almonds. It is the fourth-largest municipality in the Apulia region (behind Bari, Taranto, and Foggia) and the largest municipality of the new Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, effective as of June 2009. It is known for the 13th-century Castel del Monte.

Very easy to easy by car. You can enjoy a visit to the museum in the city center or go to the factory to buy some dragees. What can I say to describe the flavour, the colour and the taste of these sweet jewels? Just try them! In Puglia we usually eat these "confetti" during the Carnival period when you can find them in every bars which have a special irresistable smell!

A remarkable location on a hilltop with views for miles. Very well restored. Atmospheric. The minimum signage is a little disappointing, though there is more for Italian speakers. The walk from the parking area is very pleasant, less than 10 minutes, so one need not use the shuttle bus. The charge toilets are designed to take advantage of a captive audience. More could be done to improve information for visitors. An audio guide is available, but the place cries out for a good video introduction to put the castle in its setting and period.

Another beauty of Andria! Here two of Frederick II 's wife are buried. Built by the Normans it went through different reconstructions. It is a mix of styles gothic and baroque

....sono stato qui. Oltre ad una location Meritevole immersa nel verde, nonostante eravamo oltre 20 persone a tavola, abbiamo mangiato come da un ristorante stellato.lo consiglio a chi vuole trascorrere una giornata di puro relax gastronomico

Dit is wel geen marktplein maar eerder een soort park midden in de stad, palend aan de "Borgo Antico" en DE ontmoetingsplaats van Bisceglie ! Prachtige aangelegde en goed onderhouden plantsoenen, kleurrijke fonteinen, standbeelden en door de lichte helling ook een "skatepiste" voor de jongeren, -alhoewel zo niet bedoeld-, maar wel wat gevaarlijk omwille van de drukte ! Heel aangenaam om hier rond en na zonsondergang de stadssfeer op te snuiven!

Questa chiesa rupestre non è l'unica di Andria - splendidi esempi di pittura murale anche nelle chiese di Gesù Misericordia, dell'Altomare, della Madonna dei Miracoli, tutte a breve distanza da qui - ma è certamente quella che possiede il più ricco corredo di affreschi risalenti ai secoli XIII-XV. Affreschi molto interessanti e di particolare bellezza. Merita una visita guidata che faccia comprendere l'originalità di alcune rappresentazioni pittoriche nell'ambito della pittura murale del Meridione
(unica sarebbe la rappresentazione della crocifissione per ben tre volte in tre pannelli distinti).
Purtroppo lo stato di manutenzione è inadeguato e i lavori di protezione effettuati sembrano insufficienti: le infiltrazioni di acqua rischiano di compromettere in breve tempo e in maniera irreparabile questo splendido tesoro, che resta soffocato e difficilmente rintracciabile nella estrema periferia della città. Speriamo che la sua fruibilità migliori!
