We had to be in Alor Setar for a few days for business and we enjoyed our time in Aman Central mall. Husband went to the movie while I was shopping. I fixed my mobile phone screen, found an european style swimming suit, H&M and UniQlu. There are so many sushi and Japanese restaurants to choose from and a well-supplied supermarket at the underground level. There is a laser-tag place, a bowling alley and a huge playground for kids. The food court has a beautiful view of the Alor Setar tower.

A landmark that can be seen when you are im Alor Setar. Located next to Aman Central. Gives you a 360 view of Kedah. You can see the paddy fields and other interesting sights from above. Around.the tower there free binoculars to use. There is also information boards around the viewing deck on the what to look for.
Below there is small souvenir shop but not much that interest us. We bought their unique shaped bottled water that looked like the tower.
Ticket price was MYR 9 for Malaysian adult, MYR 5 for kid.

Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Gallery

Reviewed By harrymikael80 - Putrajaya, Malaysia

this gallery is located in the city center of Alor Setar and closed to other attractions such as Zahir Mosque, Balai Nobat, Balai Besar and Royal Museum. It exhibits various personal collection of the reigning Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah such as clothing, awards, photos and vehicles. My favorite section is the vehicles collection. The admission is free but sadly, photography is not allowed. Some of the items on display are showing the sign of ageing and definitely in need of proper maintenance from the management. Nevertheless, this gallery is a very good attraction and considered as a "must visit" if you are in Alor Setar.
