Sandra Farms Coffee

A surprising gem that we found to be a highlight of our vacation. The scenic drive was part of the experience. The individualized tour given by Carmilo gave us true insight into the growth and production of truly fine coffee. As a committed tea drinker, I was skeptical of tasting black coffee, as suggested by our tour guide. However, this coffee did not need any enhancement. Smooth and rich! Try the chocolate samples with coffee beans, and you will want to take some home. Delicious! Thanks, Carmilo, wonderful !

We were a party of 14 including 6 kids.It was Saturday and the place was full. We took the tour(about 90 minutes) around the plantation and everything was explained about the whole process of coffee plantation, After that we went to the processing plant and the whole process was explained to us by one of the owners. They have a small restaurant and of course excellent coffee.
Great experience.

Fernando runs a first class operation. We had a great time rappelling, tubing the cave, & hanging out with Fernando. The tranquility of the area is unreal. Bats, crickets, lizards, fruit, & shaved ice. Paradise. My blood pressure probably dropped 20 points just floating away. Bring a backpack for drinks. There are places to keep it dry.
I previously submitted a review that for some reason the star rating kept coming back as terrible. The trip advisor app was glitching out. I was finally able to delete that review but had to wait 30 days to resubmit. This place is so "must do" that here I am 30 days later resubmitting.

Adjuntas is a deep mountain town in the center of the island. Our trip was mostly to visit Puente Hamaca but fortunately we decided to go to the town and visit Casa Pueblo and try their local coffee. It was a great day in contact with the nature and spectacular places.

We've visited many Coffee farms across Puerto Rico, a very limited number of sites can detail and demonstrate all the steps that surrounds the coffee experience at it heights!.
Gran Batey is a family owned Farm perfectly set and presented by their owners, Bernardo and Loty, we reached the Farm site after 1.5 hr driving time from San Juan. Don Bernardo explained the process with enthusiasm while Loty was able to roast some coffee at the time, IT was SUPERB!!.
There is no cover charge for entrance, they offer FREE Coffee and one of the best Pound cakes you could ever eat, once again, at NO CHARGE. We were not rushed at all to buy Coffee from them, it is the nature of a humble farmer to offer their product, which by the way cannot be purchased at stores, so once there we needed to take some home, otherwise, what was the purpose!!
Yes, we did call to confirm availability and hours of visit. We appreciate their time with our family and friends (10). Definitely recommend for a weekend trip around the Island, Thanks Much Gran Batey!!

The hike up to the top of the mountain is a bit challenging, specially if you are not physically ready. I do a lot of cycling and found the last part a bit tough, others in my group were very tired. Anyways, the hike is relatively short (1 hour) and when you get to the top you have an awesome view from one of the highest points in Puerto Rico.
Walk down and complete the 1.2mi hike then enjoy a traditional meal at Bosque Restaurant. It will be the perfect compliment, trust me!

Nestle in the Mountains of the small town of Adjuntas, far away from the city, this tour was what the family needed. It only cost $30 for two and a half hour tour that takes you to different areas of the lake. Sometimes we where able to get of the Kayak and swim, which was so much fun. The cost included a snack and at the end of the tour he emailed to us the pictures and videos of the tour at no extra charge Jorge Irizarry was knowledgeable about the history of the lake and the town and made great suggestions about places to eat and visit while at the time. In sum, I have been all over the world, and I can say it is the best value I have seen ever for that much fun.
