Divers Code

Come to discover the beauty of Malta and Gozo! Divers Code is the first PADI Freediver Center in Malta, we offer Freediving courses, Snorkeling Safari and Land Tours. Offering our knowledge of Malta and the surrounding sea to ensure you an amazing experience. Explore Malta above and under the water with our unique “Snorkeling Safari”. In a very friendly atmosphere, onboard of our van, we visit two Snorkeling spots and two or three land sites, that can be a place of interest or a breathtaking view. This is not a simple Snorkeling excursion where you just follow the schedule of a group of scuba-divers so you can snorkel only between their main activities. Before the Snorkeling there will be a deep briefing about swimming techniques, safety, marine life and the sites we will visit. Once ready with the equipment we will start our underwater exploration in the crystal water of the Mediterranean sea observing the many colourful fishes that populate it and the amazing seascapes in which they live. After every Snorkeling we will visit a famous point of interest or some less known site out of the usual “touristic routes” while enjoying the landscape of the island. We love the sea and the smiles that brings to our guests, many of them describe our safari like an excursion between friends with the advantage of having an experienced and passionate guide to show you around that make the entire experience more personal and entertaining. If you want to go deeper you should learn Freediving, this sport is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves. The courses have a duration of 1 to 3 days depending on the level.

Xemxija Heritage Trail

Reviewed By lupabianca - Matlock, United Kingdom

Get off the bus at Xemxija stop "Roti" and follow the brown signs for the "Roman Road" up the hill. This first part is quite steep but it's not far and is the hardest part of the walk. You're heading into open countryside - no shops - so take water, and food if you want to stop and picnic. Once you are up the hill there are lovely views across the countryside and interesting flora and fauna. Of note is the 1,000 year old carob tree - the oldest on the islands. We found the trail for the most part fairly well signed and easy to follow, but we did consult Google maps a couple of times later on in the walk where tracks intersected. As an added bonus to a pleasant walk there are lots of historic sites en route, with information boards. Take the chance to visit Roman apiaries, Neolithic tombs and a farmer's rustic hut; and cave dwellings which were used from Punic times to the 1930s. We did find some of the lower, wetter parts of the trail muddy - churned up by off-road bikers. Generally easy walking - walking shoes recommended as the tracks are stony and uneven. A really enjoyable walk.
