Deepwater National Park

Headed out to Deepwater for a day trip from Agnes. Don’t be fooled you will need a high clearance 4wd. The track heading in from Agnes has some sections that are very torn up and rough. There is plenty of soft sand that will catch you out if you don’t pay attention. The drive is amazing though and the beaches are so secluded and beautiful. Great spot for a dip! Great day out if you are looking for something extra to do while in Agnes.

Horizons Kangaroo Sanctuary

Had the best time camping here. Was very cheap ($12.50 per person I think) and the site was beautiful. So much wildlife, kangaroos hopping past the tent etc. The facilities were good and always clean too. Amazing views for both sunrise and sunset! The owner, Garry, was lovely and really took great care of the animals. He was happy to let us come to his yard and pet the animals- he had an amazing bird too that sat on his shoulder. It’s clear him and his wife have a real love for animals and passion for what they do. Would recommend!

Agnes Water Main Beach

Agnes Water Main Beach is a patrolled surf beach (life guards on duty at certain times.) The beach stretches all the way to Seventeen Seventy headland – about 6kms. Great surf for longboards with the best wave being at the Point. Surfing lessons and surf board hire are available from local businesses. Camping and accommodation are available on and near the beach.

A crowded carpark next to amenities is the public entrance to Agnes Waters Beach. The carpark is adjacent what appears to be a large very appealing camping ground, so clearly the campers would enjoy this direct beach access. Agnes Water Beach stretches to the Town of 1770 in the north, provides a bit of surf, and looks brilliant. Easy to see why the camping ground is so popular
