Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

What a fantastic find! Many different trails, some lead into each other. We went to the castle; slightly uphill, but on a paved path and many people of varied ages and abilities were visiting. You cannot get all the way up to the castle (looks as though it used to be paved along the perimeter) We also hiked the Colosseum trail, the Spring trail and to the water tower (Many steps up). The natural bridge was a beautiful sight but it was a little strenuous on the full loop, rocky and uneven in places. Beautiful views from various points. Kayaks available for rental & people were fishing. NO entrance fee!! Small visitor area upon arrival. Picnic areas throughout the park. Wonderful stop!!

Stopped in to check out this place during our visit. Very clean and had a good vibe. Staff was great and we picked up their bbq sauce, Bloody Mary mix, apple pie moonshine, and a growler of the blonde ale which was delicious. Can’t wait to come back again and get to stay and enjoy a tour and many drinks! Highly recommend this place!

Lake of the Ozarks State Park

Enjoy the solitude of an undeveloped cove hidden along the shorelines of one of Missouri’s largest lakes. Swim, fish, boat or simply take in the view from a shady campsite or picnic area overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks. The park offers the opportunity to enjoy a variety of recreational activities on the lake, on shore or underground with a tour of Ozark Caverns.

We did our first road trip in a RV and selected this location for its proximity to the water. This was our favorite of four stops. Plenty of shade and right near the lake. (You can select sites closer to the lake with full sun). There is a great sandy beach area and plenty of other places to access the water. We rented a boat right on the premises for $48 per hour which is a steal. We loved that deer would frequent nearby.

This was a really cool guided cave tour. There are several low spots where you'll have to be careful as well as a couple tight squeezes. Well worth the price, in my opinion. The reason I recommend going during the off-season is because you'll have a MUCH more personalized experience. During the summer months the tour groups may be upwards of 30 people at a time. That could be particularly tight in some of the Bridal Cave chambers and far from the tour guide. We went in February and there were a grand total of four people in our tour group. This allowed us to see everything we wanted to see, ask all the questions we wanted, and have a generally comfortable tour.

Seven Springs Winery

Seven Springs Winery and Vineyards sits atop 160 acres of rolling Missouri foothills between Camdenton and Osage Beach. Our winery serves Missouri wines, sangrias, and a few micro-brews for those with an alternative pallet. We offer wine tastings and a light menu consisting of soups, sandwiches, cheese trays, and bread with various dipping oils. We also have the ability to host events both small and large, from weddings, reunions, and conferences.

First time visit to the area and always like to check out the area wineries. The winery is very secluded and in a beautiful location with trees showing their fall colors the day we stopped. It is a newer winery that obviously offers itself as a wedding venue with a couple outdoor settings and a large group banquet facility separate from the main building. We enjoyed a free tasting and then enjoyed a glass of wine on their absolutely gorgeous multi level patio with stream running through the middle of it. Staff were friendly and we were glad we stopped as we took a bottle of their top selling red to enjoy later.
