Not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best things we spent our money on while in Croatia. The cave itself is full to the brim of exciting formations, and Marijan (the guide) is full to the brim with knowledge about it! We learned so much between jokes and laughs on the tour, I absolutely recommend.

The main reason of starting our own business was love for sports especially passion for outdoor sports. Both of us were former athletes and personalities that did not like office jobs (prime reason to start our own business). Frane and I (Katarina) wanted to reconsider and reinvent community we lived in. Then we discovered rock climbing through our friend. Even though so many tourists came to Paklenica just for climbing only few locals (including us) understood them, their need or better call it crave to climb. Climbing was not a sport which belonged to our local culture or tradition. Alpinism and climbing was brought to us by others in late 30's, and since then only "others" had guts and love to explore beautiful rocks and serene nature of NP Paklenica. But we changed these facts in 2010 when we opened our service shop for climbers. Paklenica Avanturist ltd. wanted to change local attitude and local people mindset towards climbing, to offer some local service to foreign climbers in our destination and that is basically what we continued doing by now. As a small team of local climbers and hikers we love to hang out with people who enjoy nature and rocks, and we love hosting them.

Agricultural cooperative "Olive and wine" was established in 2006 with the goal of rural development of the area of Ravni Kotari. The aim of the cooperative is the organic production of top quality products through olive growing (table olives in different preparations and extra virgin olive oil) and viticulture (wine of top quality), and products made of figs.

Last Friday, a group of 15 people including myself, visited this winery for an organized tasting and tour. It was perfect. We did the Mediterranean Experience which included a tour of the grounds, 5 tastings, olive oil with bread, and charcuterie boards. The staff was so accommodating and knowledgeable and the owner was personable! The grounds are gorgeous! There were adorable cats and horses roaming and the views were perfect for pictures. We all left with purchases in hand. I bought 2 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of olive oil! I have every intention of returning in the future.

Degarra Winery

The Degarra Winery is a small “boutique” winery from the Zadar region that produces a limited series of top quality wines. Our motto “New and Original” besides pointing out the desire to enter the market with the new product every year, is also reflected in our desire to stand out from the others. So, we decided to turn the former barracks of the former JNA into a house of wine and delicacies.

We had a pleasant time at the Degarra Winery, great selection of wines to taste and a lovely cheese and charcuterie board to accompany. Degarra offer two sparkling wines, two whites, a rose, a red and a dessert wine. Learning the background to the winery from the small garage operation to where they are today was fascinating. Love the decor and the vibe of the place. Got the chance to peak behind the scenes and saw the huge cats of wine currently maturing. Place is difficult to spot and we drove straight by, glad we persevered and turned around. Well worth a visit.

An enchanting experience whilst visiting Zadar was to listen to the natural music at the sea organ on the promenade and then watch the science light show after sunset, a lovely end to a perfect visit to this ancient city.
