The 10 Best Things to do Good for Big Groups in Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia

April 7, 2022 Margarita Chappel

The southwestern castle city of Cesky Krumlov is one of the Czech Republic’s finest medieval sites. Its Old Town is a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site, a maze of twisting alleys built around the extensive Cesky Krumlov castle. Saunter through crooked, cobblestone streets on foot and soak up the atmosphere of this impeccably preserved medieval gem. The gushing Vltava, popular with rafting enthusiasts, darts through the town.

Historic Center of Cesky Krumlov

Reviewed By tk3232 - Sugar Land, United States

Cesky Krumlov is a huge tourist magnet, which makes things colorful and easy for travelers. Lassoed by its river and dominated by its castle, this enchanting town feel lost in a time warp. At times it can feel like a medieval theme park - but not so much that it entirely tramples the place's charm. It's easy to enjoy strolling the town without ever paying to enter a sight. But it's worth considering the Baroque Theater at the castle and the Bohemian Castle inself, which can be seen only with a reserved tour. When you see in Cesky Krumlov awe-inspiring castle, delightful Old Town of shops and cobbled lanes, characteristic little restaurants, and easy canoeing options, you'll understand why having fun is a slam-dunk here. Most of Cesky Krumlov's modest sights are laced together in this charming self-guided walk from the top of the historic Old Town, down its spine, across the river, and up to the castle. The town and its historical center rich mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque building which curve with the winding streets. Step into shops and snoop into back lanes and tiny squares. Take your time to learn, consider, admire and enjoy!!

The exhibition itself is very well designed with correct amount of information splited across the house rooms. A suggestion: in the first two rooms maybe subnumbers can be assigned to the objects so the photography lames can understand the tools mentioned in the audio guide.

Steady Tour

Reviewed By sunshinehappy3 - Philadelphia, United States

I give Steady Tour my highest recommendation. I found this company through TripAdvisor, as I was researching the options for transportation between Prague Airport and Cesky Krumlov. Steady Tour had consistently great reviews, so I sent an inquiry to them, asking for some information and prices. To my surprise, Radek replied within a few minutes (and it was late at night, local Czech time)! They not only provide transportation between Prague Airport and Cesky Krumlov, but anywhere in the Czech Republic and even to and from neighboring countries. Their prices are reasonable — a good value! My husband and I used them for 2 days. The first day, June 4, we arrived at the Prague airport, from Paris, and Radek and his son were both waiting for us in the Arrivals terminal inside the airport. Both were professionally dressed, and holding a sign with their company name and our last name on it. They both spoke English very well, and were funny and made us feel welcome. They are the type of people you feel like you have known a long time, even though you just met. Radek and his son both knew the areas well, and were informative. They also knew fantastic restaurants where we could eat traditional Czech food. They made a few sightseeing stops along the way for us, and were very accommodating, asking us if there are any specific stops or things we would like to see. Radek’s car was very nice, comfortable and clean. It was very spacious, too. They even had complimentary bottles of water for us in the car. We used them again today, to go from Cesky Krumlov to Prague city, with a 4 hour stop in Plzen / Pilsen per my request. I was a bit sad to say good bye to them at the end, as I felt like my husband and I had become friends with them. I cannot recommend Steady Tour enough. If you will be traveling to the Czech Republic, do yourself a favor and book this company. You will be happy you did! Thank you, Steady Tour, and Radek and George, for helping make our visit to the Czech Republic so wonderful!

Took a day trip from Prague to this old town as there are so many photos & bloggers reviews about it. It’s really worth a visit although it’s a 3hours ride from Prague. CK castle of course is the no 1 attraction if you want to have a panoramic view of the whole town. You can take a leisure walk around the castle compound where each & every corner gives you different view of the Old Town. Take a short climb to the top of the tower of course is the only way to have a panoramic view of the scenery. It’s definitely a wonderful place to visit !
