We are usually alpine ski people but decided to try out cross country skiing for fun whilst on holiday in Sweden! The center is easy to find, and we tried the 45 min ski package, which included equipment hire. We had to hire gloves too for a small additional charge. The staff in the equipment hire spoke good English, and gave great friendly service. We went through to the tunnel to discover that we had no idea on how to clip the skis to our boots!! We were rescued by a member of the Swedish Cross Country Team! We had a lot of fun trying this sport, but quickly figured that it's very different to normal alpine skiing! The tunnel consists of various flat ground, and up and down hills that don't look that steep at all. But it's amazing the speed you can pick up on these skis! We still never really figured out how to stop!! But definitely fantastic fun and highly recommended. After we walked a long forest walk which starts behind the centre. (There are many to choose from).

Marbacka Minnesgard

Reviewed By 300kristak - Stockholm, Sweden

Marbacka is a place to visit when exploring Värmland. I liked the garden that was very well maintained and beautiful. If you want to know more about the life and work of Selma Laggerlöf, you should definitely take a guided tour that takes ca 45 minutes (this is the only way to get in the house). The guided tour was very informative and good.

What a gem this museum is! This lovely place has something for everybody. The buildings are very interesting from an architectural and engineering aspect, as the “cottage” is built like a piece of perfect furniture. But the art is the real breath taker, and also very moving. This marvellous place has something for everyone. Don’t miss it!

Arvika Fordonsmuseum

Reviewed By SebastianKroeckel - Berlin, Germany

This is a very interesting museum for every car enthusiast. ???? They have some local specialties here: the Arvika built Indigo 3000 sports car from 1990s, two Rallye Cars driven by Per Eklund (Saab 900 and MG Metro 6R4), a Thulin Phaeton built in Landskrona in the 1920s, etc. Very friendly staff and a small shop and cafe. I enjoyed my visit very much ????
