It is approximately 150 kilometres (93 mi) south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 4 metres (13 ft) above sea level. Mirissa's beach and nightlife make it a popular tourist destination. We went to classes here on consecutive days - the first was so excellent that we wanted to squeeze in a second before leaving Mirissa. Rukshan is a great teacher with a wealth of knowledge, and really takes stock of the students to make the classes interesting and exciting, different every time. I learned a lot, and enjoyed both classes immensely. The classes are long and challenging, so be prepared to push yourself but also definitely go in knowing your limits. The space is beautiful as well.

This guy and his wife are both really good at what they do and if the massage is more important to you than the ambience and piped music this is most definitely for you. Priyantha has amazing strength in his hands and forearms and he really makes sure he gets to every bit of you. I had the full body massage that lasted around an hour and it included an invigorating head massage with amazing smelling oils. He also throws in a bit of stretching at the end and you get a cold bottle of water when you arrive and hot tea just before you leave. His family home is a short tuk tuk out of Mirissa and he and his wife charge around 3500 LKR for the full body massage. I would definitely recommend a visit. I left feeling great and it felt nice supporting a local family business over a corporate style hotel one.

I went there with an open mind and thought that I would maybe want a loose pants made (Still I had my favourite jumpsuit with me just in case I would need them for to show my size or something).. Anyway I first chose the fabric and the Jayamini showed me some photos of clothes she had made. I saw one cute dress with a lovely top and asked if I could have similar top in a jumpsuit. That was just ok for Jayamini and she took some measures of me. After few day she texted me that I could pick it. Jayamini totally got a hug from me <3

What a happy chance to find this wonderful little jewelry and gemstone store in Mirissa. Beautiful hand-crafted jewelry offered by an exceptionally genuine, friendly and knowledgeable family-run business. There's absolutely no hard sell here. Everything is about their passion, love and knowledge of Sri Lankan gems. We were really touched by their kindness and the way they took such care showing and explaining everything to us. We have three young girls who felt like princesses that day looking at all the treasures! Roosara Gems is the perfect place to explore Sri Lanka's famed sapphires and moonstones. We visited beautiful Sri Lanka in December for our honeymoon, and travelled quite a lot across the south of the island. For the last four days, we employed the services of Aja, whom we found via a friend's recommendation. We could not recommend him more. He drove us from Hambantota to Udawalawe National Park (highly recommend for amazing sights of wild elephants); from there to Ella, via a great little traditional roadside cafe for lunch; he helped us secure train tickets from Ella to Nuwara Eliya, and then put us on the train and picked us up from Nanu-oya to take us to a tea plantation; then onto Kandy, and finally from there across the island to the airport on our final day. Each time we met Aja, he was punctual, friendly, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Nice, comfortable car with A/C too. Would definitely recommend to others - thank you Aja for looking after us so well on our honeymoon!

Just had the best massage earlier, was just what I needed! It was a proper massage and you can tell he is formally trained and a professional. He asks what level of pressure you want and I said strong and it was perfect,not sore or anything but he got deep into the muscles. He uses the most amazing oils and they give you water upon arrival. I also got a pick up from my accommodation but I could have walked actually it was so close. The beautiful cinnamon and ginger tea at the end was an added bonus. The price was very reasonable too. Delighted I picked here and avoided the tourist traps.
