Had a lot of fun drawing on the nuts. The joy these nuts brought to our friends and family was well worth it. The fun stories of receiving theses are what makes great memories.

Oldest Catholic Church in Hawaii, built in 1841, beautiful gardens and grounds. Walk the stations of the cross, overlooking the ocean surrounded by green mountains. Spiritual place, quiet, peaceful and lovely.
The oldest Catholic Church in Hawaii. Beautiful place. Nice grounds. Out of the way on a dead end road but easy to get to.

Located in Lihue, this was our ‘home away from home’ church. It’s a beautiful open church. A small grotto replica reminds of the Lourdes connection when Mary told Bernadette ‘I am the Immaculate Conception’, thus letting the more educated of the time know that Bernadette was telling the truth. Church had open windows & doors that let in the warm Hawai’i wind & flower perfume. The locals were wonderful & welcoming. They asked visitors to stand for a blessing. They gave us each a seashell necklace too. It’s on a steep drive in. They announced future construction plans, beginning of 2020. Wonderful place of worship!

Named “Top 10 Aquariums in the World” by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards, Maui Ocean Center is the premier destination to encounter and learn about Hawaii’s marine life. Home to one of the world’s largest displays of live Pacific corals, the Aquarium exhibits only marine life found in Hawaiian waters including tropical fish, sea turtles, sharks, stingrays, octopuses, sea jellies, and more. The Aquarium highlights the beauty of Hawaii’s undersea world while perpetuating the deep connection between the Hawaiian people and the sea. The Aquarium’s mission is to foster understanding, wonder, and respect for Hawaii’s marine life.
This is a fabulous aquarium with beautifully presented displays.Loads of lighting and informational displays and the highlight was the shark tank with manta rays and sharks swimming above you in the tunnel. An added bonus for cruise visitors is that you can catch a bus opposite the small port terminal and buy a day pass for $4. The bus takes about 30 minutes to the Ocean centre.

Bishop Museum was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop in honor of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha family. The Museum was established to house the extensive collection of Hawaiian artifacts and royal family heirlooms of the Princess, and has expanded to include millions of artifacts, documents and photographs about Hawai'i and other Pacific island cultures. Today, Bishop Museum is the largest museum in the state and the premier natural and cultural history institution in the Pacific, recognized throughout the world for its cultural collections, research projects, consulting services and public educational programs. It also has one of the largest natural history specimen collections in the world. Serving and representing the interests of Native Hawaiians is a primary purpose of the Museum.
The Bishop Museum has a fascinating history and collection of artifacts dating back to the earliest contacts of the Island people with the white explorers. The feather capes and headdresses worn by the Hawaiian chiefs and kings retain their beautiful colors, and the intricate detail work and construction is lovely. The history of the Hawaiian people, and their interactions with people of other island nations is documented and explained in great detail, and serves as a wonderful education in Hawaiian history.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center is a world-class performing & visual arts center, inspiring people with personal & shared experiences of the arts on Maui.
Made our annual visit to the Symphony and enjoyed music and Broadway vocalists. Another time, saw Hawiian performer Kahana and friends. The MACC offers great variety, superb acoustics throughout the theater and reasonable prices. A treasure.

To inspire and promote in the community, an appreciation and respect for the indigenous and immigrant people of Kaua′i and Ni′ihau.
The Kauai Museum has some very nice displays with a nice variety of collections: early Hawaiian history and culture, surfing, plantation life, and paniolos. It's well worth a stop.

an interesting middle ground between something to make a destination and something to stop at as you drive by. A beautiful little whitewashed church, with a beautiful interior painted with biblical scenes; nice setting, interesting history. I would recommend this.
