We spent a lovely day together with Ava, starting with a walking-tour around the markets where she explained different foods and spices, to a local lunch at a beautiful old traditional house, followed by the very interesting and fun cooking class in her lovely house, located just outside Shiraz and finally eating the four different dishes we cooked together in her beautiful garden. It truly is an amazing and fun experience!! Ava's English is perfect and she is very knowledgable about everything to do with Persian food and culture. I highly recommend you to do a culinary tour and cooking class with Ava when you are in Shiraz! It was definitely one of our high-lights of our Iran trip!!

Shah-e-Cheragh Shrine

Reviewed By 1stQuesters - Tehran, Iran

Shiraz's Shah Cheragh Shrine is a very interesting place to visit, as it gives a good exemple of what Holy Shrines look like in Iran. The dome, with its rosebud shape, is a typical feature of Shirazi architecture. Non-muslims visitors are accompanied by a guide, for free, who give them insight about the place and its history. It's also possible to visit a small part of the interior, to see the mirror-work. Like in all holy shrines, women are required to wear a chador, which can be borrowed for free at the entrance. It's also interesting to visit in the evening, after sunset. The lights makes the place even more beautiful and the atmosphere is very lively, with many families gathering in the yard.
