The Delta Blues Museum

Housed in the newly renovated Yazoo and Mississippi River Valley Railroad Depot, the museum presents the history of the Blues through photos, written word, artifacts and instruments.

I expected a little more from the museum by it was still exceptionally good. My wife purchased 2 t-shirts and noticed one the wrong size when we got back to Kansas. We called and the museum worked things out for us with no hesitation. While my wife passed away December 22, 2019 I'll be back, reflecting on the great to e we had there.

If you need information about Clarksdale, look no further. Roger is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about ALL things going on. Stop in, look around, and get the information that may be lacking elsewhere in “laid-back” Clarksdale. If you’re planning a visit, check out the website. If you find yourself in Clarksdale, make this your first stop. Roger and Frank are very friendly!

The Rock & Blues Museum

COMING SOON: VIRTUAL BLUES2ROCK MUSEUM TOUR. Update: Because of the Corona Project at this time all showings are cancelled; we are in process of making a virtual tour of the memorabilia collection in the building which is for sale with or without the building. The non-profit, which run the museum has been dissolved as of end August last year. The private owners of the building and the collection have retired and the complete collection in it and the building ( including a large apartment with 2 separate sleeping spaces upstairs) is for sale . Perhaps to somebody or a community who would continue it (with or without the building). We hope that the Museum continues in one form in future depending on new ownership!

We met Razerblade Steward at the Clup Ground Zero. He talked about his personal live and the Blues History in Clarksdale. A very famous spot, where lots of famous artists performed. Projects in education in music for all ages! Its a must to be there.

Stan Streets Hambone Art Gallery

Reviewed By KarenK3

Recommendation from The Travelers Hotel and it was a great experience. A funky boho art gallery with live music. We were warmly greeted and it’s a very interesting place to sit and relax with the added pleasure of hearing a very very good blues guitarist-Lucious Stiller - and his band. We were only in Clarksdale for one night and it was amazing to have found Hambone and see this band.

Went to the bluesberry on a recommendation from a local. Actually went to another place first which luckily was closed. In the bluesberry at 11 in the morning we found watermelon slim playing. There were 3 of the people in the cafe two of whom were from the band we had seen the previous night. Watermelon slim played for the next couple of hours and then between chat to us about his life and his dad's and the music. It was brilliant. The staff were all very friendly and the food was good we had breakfast. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in clarksdale.
