My wife and I were looking for something fun and challenging that was also reasonably "pandemic friendly". The Lazy Axe was an awesome hour that succeeded in all regards. We did a "small group" session that included an hour of personalized guidance, feedback on how to improve our throws, guided games, and teaching us some trick shots. The attached picture is an example of one of many great throws resulting from their excellent guidance.

Mount Beacon Incline Railway

Mount Beacon Park, located in the City of Beacon and Town of Fishkill, was created by Scenic Hudson. Its 234 acres were protected in 1995 and 1998, halting a proposed residential subdivision and preserving important remnants of the Mount Beacon Incline Railway. A kiosk at the park entry explains the mountain’s history, ecology and conservation. Scenic Hudson has worked tirelessly to protect the incline railway and its environs, which it owns. Thanks to their efforts, trails to the summit have been maintained and the surrounding natural beauty preserved; one trail leads up a stairway tracing a portion of the railway’s route. The Incline Society and Scenic Hudson share a goal of making this wonderful natural and historic area accessible to more people than ever before while continuing to preserve the mountain’s scenic beauty and critical wildlife habitat for future generations.

Manitoga / The Russel Wright Design Center

MANITOGA is a National Historic Landmark, an Affiliate Site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and a World Monuments Watch Site. It is one of the few 20th century modern homes open to the public in New York State.

Manitoga is a fascinating place to visit. Russel Wright designed his home and studio to be at one with the natural surroundings, and even created the 75 acre woods around the house. The Russel Wright House is the expression of a creative mind and unique spirit and well worth visiting. Be sure to take a tour—the guides all seem to have infectious enthusiasm for the place. They bring Wright and his work to life in a way that enhances your appreciation of the house and the landscape. If you want lovely hiking without the crowds of Bear Mountain, the trails are worth the trip on their own. (Just a word of advice: if you go during peak season, prepare for crazy traffic jams in the Bear Mountain area.)

Catamount Aerial Adventure Park

Reviewed By 130MC - New York City, United States

This was our first time coming to the Adventure Park and definitely not our last! For beginners like us we felt like we were able to take on intense courses in just a few hours that we were there thanks to the training we were given from the staff and the feeling of safety while you were up on the course! We haven't tried the Black Diamond courses yet due to lack of energy and time after doing the other three but we were very entertained and very much feeling the burn after the 3 courses it was awesome! The obstacles were very well-constructed nothing rattled or shook I felt very secure I was able to reach everything which I appreciated being not so tall and my husband being not so limber was still able to have the time of his life and move through the course at a good pace! I have to say me personally I love the zip lining especially after getting all sweaty in the ropes course it was so refreshing to Breeze through the air especially towards the end when you make your way back to the entrance! The only thing I wish was that we had taken some type of attached GoPro or ask someone to take our picture because we had no photo memories but I guess it's only for safety precaution that you can't have a camera up there. Would definitely go again with some friends and try the more intense courses next time, if we can handle it not so sure LOL
