Gannet Beach Adventures

Hop on board our vintage tractor-trailers for a unique, fun eco-experience with your Gannet Beach Adventures guide. Stops along the way give you an insight into how nature’s forces have shaped the cliffs and there are lots of great photo spots during the 4-hour return trip. At the Cape you get plenty of time to enjoy a scenic walk up to the larger Plateau Colony, or you can stay near the beach to relax with a picnic and swim. A moderate fitness level is suggested for the walk up to the top colony. Perfect whether you are travelling solo or with others, the tour is suitable for all ages. Our tour season runs late September to the end of April and departs on the day’s low tide, so start times vary. The gannets, our distinctive tractors, dramatic scenery and fascinating geology of this area will truly amaze you! (Note: The coastline to Cape Kidnappers is subject to unpredictable slips & rockfalls and is a tsunami risk zone - see safety information on our website before booking).

Gannet Colony

Reviewed By DayTrip769695

Our guide David was terrific as he drove us up and down very narrow roads using a 4 wheel drive vehicle to the top of an overlooking cliff where there were hundreds of gannets. The view of the bays and beaches were spectacular. David was very knowledgeable about the area and the environment. At the end we had q light tea with the best strawberries we ever had

At Gannet Bikes we provide you with the opportunity to explore Cape Kidnappers on a Fat Bike. Cycle along this special coastline, along a sandy, gravelly and rocky beach, next to striking cliffs showing the different layers of geology. Towards the end of the beach you’ll come across our amazing gannet colonies. This is a nature trip with a bit of fun and exercise thrown in. If you've never ridden a Fat Bike before, get ready to smile....they're a lot of fun.
