Take the audio guide and be sure to watch the introduction video, if you don’t you will miss so much of the history of the island and the museum. This is one of the most interesting places we have visited so far. The lady at the entrance was ever so helpful and made us feel really welcome. I guess the only thing which let it down was that the cafe was not very well stocked but, having said that they had some unusual drinks like cinnamon and almond drinks. The garden at the start has so many different varieties of tree and plant all laid out with labels and the audio guide fills in the gaps for you. Around the buildings the guide gives a real insight into the people who once lived in them. Brilliant day, thank you.

Piskopiano Museum of Rural Life

Reviewed By Claudia_Guenther - Dresden, Germany

The Museum of Rural Life was located next to our hotel at Piskopiano. On out last day we enjoyed a few hours at the exhibition. Main themes are the historic weaving techniques, the processing of olives to olive oil and raki and local crafts. The exhibition was very modern and nice designed. There were also some interactive elements. From the outside you won't suspect it, but it was a big exhibition and there is disability access (elevator, ramps...).

Museum of El Greco

Reviewed By ElimElim - Paris, France

We enjoyed the walk from the bottom of the village to the museum as there were almost no cars nor people around. The road was very quiet and it was nice to see the orange, pomegranate and fig trees aling the way. The museum (birthplace of El Greco) was quite small but quite picturesque and worth the 10-15 minutes we spent looking at the newspaper articles and replicas of his paintings. At the bottom of the village there are many restaurants and we also enjoyed looking at the wild geese and ducks as we ate next to the stream.
