Reviewed By seeyou123This was my first homestay experience and it couldn't have been better. I could feel the difference between a private room at a hotel and the homestay at Chhotaramji's place and it was amazing. We went from total strangers to understanding him, his family, the children and getting to know the real heritage which is his place and how they have been guarding their heritage and living a life of independence and self-sufficiency for about 70yrs now. And I must say we are very private people and yet we (I and my husband with our 2 dogs) loved the lunch time talking and evening chit-chats with Chotaramji, his brother, sometimes Mamtaji and her younger sister-in-law. We wouldn't be very open to talking but they were all so natural that it felt like visiting our relatives and we talked about everything like we do with a family. In 2 days of stay we got to know the place and the culture so much better than we would have ever known in our private stay at a hotel. And in all honesty hats off to the hospitality from the entire family. About the food: they have a menu booklet and they suggested a dessert thali at first and then we tasted everything we wanted to and let me list the best things- buttermilk, garlic chutney, dal-bati, churma, and the amazing parathas for breakfast, also the tea. While eating those yellow-colored very fine parathas i kept thinking how was the dough kneaded and was anything sprinkled on them after cooking- yummmm! All of it was made on traditional mud chulha. Chhotaramji always said it took time to cook on mud chulha but we were never left hungry, he made sure that he knew in advance what we would like to eat and the food was always ready on time. It will never be enough but I'm trying to write everything I can- My car had an AC failure and my driver was not willing to go out and get it fixed and it was sunday so most garages nearby were closed. I was frustrated because my dogs would have to travel without AC and I couldn't bear that. Chotaramji decided to check the car and he figured out the problem and fixed it within 2-3 minutes. All my tension disappeared :) About my dog's stay there: My dogs are used to doing their business in the garden of our house and therefore it was very convenient for them. They could just go behind the hut and poop and pee there. My dogs learned that immediately and like good boys they both pooped together early in the morning before leaving. They were absolutely at ease. About 3-5 huts were arranged in a fashion that they had a common area in the middle with small gardens and a tiny gate to separate them from the larger common area for all other huts. Since it was a new place for my dogs, they closed the larger gate (so my dogs didn't run outside the property and get hurt by street dogs) while my dogs could roam around without leash in the space in front of our hut and outside of it- ample space really to run and play for dogs as well as children. Fortunately, my dogs are very gentle (a Labrador and a German Shephered) and they were friends with all children quickly and they all played together. I can't write enough about how we and our dogs were treated as one of them and how friendly the atmosphere was. If you visit, you will learn a lot more and feel it for yourself. After all, super hosts do give you a very special experience. Finally, they have air coolers which kept the huts cool even at 42 degrees temperatures, they don't have wifi but we didn't miss it. It was an excellent experience- all quiet and serene, very peaceful and organic. Much love and appreciation to Chhotaramji and his entire family!

It's just that they should keep a proper room service number to call on. Also drinking water shouldn't be charged. Manager Vikram is quite welcoming n helpfull. We didn't like the restaurant food at all. One can go to Turban cafe (Zostel) opposite to this property for food!. Thanks ?

Beautiful heritage property amidst the jungle
Reviewed By reshma rI went there with my husband and mother in January. This is a heritage property. The owner is very friendly. The property is situated far away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. We saw blackbucks and chikaras during our morning walk. The hotel is surrounded by peacocks. The only issue was food. Limited options and not so tasty.

When asked for a room change, room was provided with no basic toiletries like soap, paper roll ( no hand wash till last day of stay). On being asked for a room change (around 8: 30 am) , room service was provided after yelling at them around 7: 30 pm. On being asked for change of blanket , they provided us with the wet blanket. Wifi was not working at all. You cannot have cutlery (jus lt plates and spoons) if you haven't ordered from their kitchen. There was no non veg in the hotel and we wanted to have non veg food. But still, they denied us of the basic cutlery when we asked them. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Reviewed By KeemanaaanOwner told us a story about a mouse then sold us a rickshaw!! Terrible experience make sure you stay away at all costs. We were all violently ill although that was probably down to the fact we were in India rather than this specific hostel but it can't be ruled out!

Purn Haveli is run by family of educated people and teachers in a good residential area old city in jodhpur where site seeing places like Mehrangarh fort, Jaswant Thada, Blue city are located at a taking 1-3 minutes to reach by an auto rickshaw. Where the ancient Indian tradition of treating a guest like a spiritual master carries on in an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness.

Welcoming the guests with a glass building, Hotel Amba International offers friendly hospitality and a relaxing experience. The rooms are strategically designed and the walls have good combination of dark panelling and basic toned colours. Certain walls stand as good examples of fine art as they have a display of beautiful paintings that are modernistic. The place has an in-house restaurant and a dining area attached to a bar where the guests can have food and enjoy. The property provides the guests with a conference room for meetings, accepts card payments and also offers power backup for the rare chances of power cuts. Other facilities include laundry, free wifi, parking area and CCTV cameras.

Reviewed By durgamohantyIt deserves zero rating. Let’s start from the beginning. No parking for cars, No security. Let’s come to the room. I booked a classic room. When we entered to the room, the room was full of cigarette smoke, bed sheets, pillow covers were full of stain, even the sofas are full of stains And torn. If you have plans for wfh then please avoid as Wi-Fi doesn’t connect. Most horrible thing is bathroom. Bathroom door is broken.It smells like fungus, health faucet,dustbin is not there, bathroom was full of hairs. In covid we expect at least a basic hygiene and cleanliness in the hotel, but this hotel is not at all following any as such hygiene and cleanliness. Manager, even the MD of the hotel is highly unprofessional and rude.Please avoid booking this hotel. I cancelled my 1 more night stay with them as they are not ready to refund so I donated that amount to the hotel management at least they should buy some new bed sheets and pillow covers for their rooms.

Reviewed By DontBelieveTheHypeNZI booked a room ahead of time, using booking.com. As the room was the cheapest of several available, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the AC worked well, and a complimentary towel and toiletries were supplied. The room was also quiet, which is rare, and large enough for one person in a double bed, with two super plush pillows. Finally, there was a huge yard, with plenty of space to store my touring bike, out of sight of the main gates.

Reviewed By SandipRoyThis little boutique hotel not only looks instagram friendly it lives up to its pictures. It's enormously good value for money. The rooms are large and eclectic, done up really interestingly with all kinds of art objects and old pictures. Our room had an axe! The beds are very comfy and the room spacious. It's a superb location right next to the famous stepwell and close to the clock tower. You can go up to the terrace and get the best view of mehrangarh fort. it's a wonderful 360 degree view. Our room had a littlle window with a sliver of a fort view. Other rooms have more of the fort, some face the road. But they all have a really unique artistic vibe with exposed bare walls and colourful knicknacks. The Art Cafe below sells art objects . It's vegetarian (no eggs even) but as one of the few places around serving breakfast before 9, it comes in handy. Would happily stay there again. Santanu who runs the place is very friendly and helpful and happy to let you know if you are being overcharged for a taxi etc. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Wish we had more time there.
