This made for great conversation on the way to and from the castles. I highly recommend the tour and would gladly do it again with friends and family in the future.

Autumn is a great time to visit Transylvania. One of the highlights for me was the mountain roads and seeing the bright autumn colours in the forests. The scenery is spectacular! Bogdan is an excellent tour guide who entertained me with his stories and knowledge of the castles. He is able to explain the history of the region and to answer any questions. Due to COVID, the castles were not crowded and the lines were short. The cold misty weather when I visited Bran Castle added to the spooky atmosphere.

The Romanians, the EU's most religious nation, have kept up their diverse Christian legacy and used it as an identity anchor during the long centuries of foreign domination and also through the short but fierce decades of communism.
