Most of our teachings and retreats are led by Geshe Jampa Tharchin, who holds the highest Lharmapa Geshe degree.

Our wines are crafted from hand-picked vines on Flaxmore’s north-facing slopes. Clay-gravels, climate and attention to detail have resulted in fine, balanced wines which fully express our vineyard’s special character. We have just opened our unique gallery with a range of art from local and NZ artists, encompassing photography, painting and sculpture. A permanent art collection is also on display to enjoy along with your wine tasting and vineyard walk. You can visit us every weekend through the Summer (Oct-Easter) from 10 until 5 or, if you'd like to visit on weekdays, just give us a call or text. During Winter (Apr-Sept), call us for an appointment.

Flaxmore has an amazing setting for the wine tasting in the old barn. Highly recommend taking the time to go visit this boutique vine yard with very friendly owners

We had a lovely visit to Isel House. The house was lovely & the grounds were beautiful. We even met up with a volunteer that we had gone to school with 65yrs ago. He advised us about the night market, so we went back that evening, looked around the stalls & enjoyed a varied dinner. Would certainly recomment.

Really enjoyed visiting the cottage. It is a 2 storey house made of cob and well presented. The fittings and furnishings are typical Victorian era so expect it to be cluttered, darker and heavier on the eye in terms of decor. The tour guide was really informative and helpful and helped to bring the house and its inhabitants to life. Great to see what a working home would have been like especially with the dairy and the large kitchen. Recommended for historic buffs!

We must have organised our visit just right as the lovely organ was being played. Lots of opportunities to stop and mediate /pray during this visit. Various memorials, including to Robert Snodgrass, Thomas Brunner and Robert Baden-Powell. A beautiful building featured on the hill at the top of Trafalgar Street.

Great day spent at this place with family The boys all caught a Salmon each which we got smoked and cut into steaks 3 year old grand daughter loved the feeding the eels - playing at the playground and patting the animals
