Kuiseb Pass

A breathtaking road in the Namib desert that connects Sesriem and Walvis Bay. Looks like you drive on the moon!

Swakopmund Jetty

Reviewed By nickv228 - Windhoek, Namibia

In my youth the Jetty was a popular place for fishing and making out. Sadly fishing, as most other fun activities in the Dorob park, are Verboten :( During my life it was rebuilt twice and the maintence at the moment is supposedly funded by the restaurant at the head. The restaurant is for people with small appetites and cavernous wallets ;) The restaurant is also not open every day for lunch, as i recently found out. This landmark is a must visit. To stroll up to the head and back clears the mind. Sunsets are stunning.

Woermannhaus

Reviewed By Shimnik - Delft, The Netherlands

Right now Woermannhaus is used as a library and art gallery. You can find a guard in the yard and ask him to get to the tower. It costs 20N$ (1,5 USD). The views from the top are nice on a sunny day. And you would have 360deg observation desk for yourself, because there are usually not so many people interested to get up without a lift.

Walvis Bay Waterfront

Reviewed By JaneN617 - London, United Kingdom

Walvis Bay is the 'Bay of Whales'. The best way to see the wildlife is to take a boat trip out into the bay. We saw whales, Cape Fur Seals and plenty of birds. Both a seal and pelicans landed on our boat so we could see them close up - a real treat. There are some good, reasonably priced and well stocked souvenir shops when you get off the boats as well as bars and cafes.

Swakopmund Camel Farm

Reviewed By cowenevett - Carefree, United States

I had written ahead and booked our ride. When we arrived, a little unsure if we were in the right place, since the government had removed all the road signs, Elke assured us that we were. Elke, the owner was so much fun to talk to and we enjoyed seeing what other animals she had on the farm. The headgear she dresses you up in adds to the experience, making it all a little more fun than the commercialized camel rides they have in town. The ride isn't long, but long enough to get the feel and make it memorable. Will definitely return and would love to take Elke to lunch to hear more about her life and history in Namibia, she made the camel ride and opportunity to chat with her a very special stop during our trip. I hope people take the time to drive a short distance from the town center and support her and her camels, she is a small local business worth supporting.
