What a grand campus. The moment you enter you will surprised by the grandeur and the frolic greenery all around you. Fresh air, tall trees will surely make your walk to the central part of campus much easier. The campus is huge and very picturesque. A good number of bollywood movies have been shot at this campus. There are various museums inside and quite easy to get lost in the big campus, so just keep a track of the streets inside. If you have a private vehicle, roaming around the huge campus would be pretty easy, else walking is the only option I found. Click lots of pictures, lots of greenery and a beautiful serene environment. Relax and enjoy the wow architecture. Its magnanimous. !!

The Tibetan Buddhist monastery, takes you to a different world. It boasts of one of the tallest statues of Lord Buddha in the whole of Asia. The temple and the statue are beautiful with intricate designs that truly depict the Tibetan culture. The vast open lawns make a good place for people to enjoy family picnics and the best part is that they take it most care that the premises remains clean. There are shops inside that sell decoratives, crockery and apparel which is really interesting. Had some great shopping experience here. There are restaurants near by that serve authentic Tibetan food. The surrounding is green with a thick jungle that makes the location even more beautiful. The place gives a sense of calm and is worth visiting.

Santala Devi Temple

Reviewed By SandeepSaxena-IIP - Dehradun, India

This is a historic hindu temple situated in Santur mountain in Dehradun. As per local stories , of this temple, Sanatala Devi and her brother used to stop conversion of hindus to islam by cruel Mughals. One day they both realized the fact that they will no longer be able to fight against the Mughals. and they decided to pray. All of a sudden, light started flickered on them and they both were converted into stone. It was a Saturday. So every Saturday, hundreds of devotees visit the Santala Devi Temple to take the blessings of the Goddess Santala Devi and her brother. To reach this temple, you have to trek at steep hill, around 45 minutes. The trek is usually refreshing and live rather than tiring as the root is full of nature’s beauty. The place around 10 kms from clock tower. 2.5km trek before reaching the temple. Very nice places. One can easily reach here from parade ground by city bus coming towards Jaintanwala. From jaintan wala it's a trek of two and half kilometre. The trek is all cemented and is steeped high. Better to trek in morning hours. Please do carry your own water bottle as there are no shops in between the trek. Noon river flows beneath the mountain of the temple. The temple has been developed by Gorkha regiment of Indian army. Do enjoy your visit to the Santos Devi temple but also do not harm any animals. As the Bali of hens and goats are banned here. Enjoy your visit. Jai Mata di.

This is a beautiful temple of lord shiva in dehradun mussoorie road no donation free distributed prasad and tea

Reviewed By prabhupushpa - Oak Park, United States

When we were driving from Mussoorie to Dehradun in October 2019, we came across this very nice temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in a small village. This temple has a Shiva Linga as the main deity as well as two "Spatika" Lingas. After we walked into the temple, we went straight towards the main deity of Shiva Linga and took the Aarthi and tried to donate some cash. But the priest then told us forcefully but courteously that they do NOT accept any donations whatsoever and pointed out to us many signs in Hindi on the premises that clearly spelt out their strict policy of NO donations. We then looked around and did see many such signs in Hindi. We then took some Prasad which was free, looked around the nice temple, took pictures and left with a very good appreciation for this very unique and unusual temple. I would certainly recommend this temple to travelers driving on this route.
