Theatre of Saint-Pierre

Reviewed By parrottdize - Dyer, United States

We choose the ship excursion that went to St. Pierre, because of it's history. All around the town are reminders of the Mt Pelee eruption. Our guide took us over to the ruins of the theater. It was a short walk, but over uneven ground. Also there are stairs, so if you have mobility problems, you might not be able explore the site. We thought the site interesting and worth seeing, but we like old historic structures, yes, even ones that are ruins.

Cachot de Cyparis

Reviewed By robbygc - Toronto, Canada

Cyparis was not a nice guy. Our guide explained. When the volcano erupted, it destroyed most of the prison. However, Cyparis survived the calamity. He was in another part of the prison. When they found him, they were amazed that he was still alive. I have a few photos where he was in prison. This part was saved. Worthwhile to see!
