Woodstock Town Center

Reviewed By Titchger - Cork, Ireland

We drove from Niagara Falls to Woodstock, which took 6 hours approx. The last section which took about 90 mins, was a drive through the Catskills and along the Delaware river, which is a really scenic drive. Woodstock town is a really laid back neck of the woods. Really nice shops to take a wander through. We went in to 2 great bars The Station and The Colony which is also a good music venue. There are loads of good restaurants and got the best bagels I ever had in Bread Alone. The people we met were really nice and friendly. There is a good music venue called Levon Helm Studios which is situated in a beautiful wooded area. We stayed in a very quaint boarding house at 5 Rock City Road which we booked on Airbnb. If we planned our road trip all over again we would have stayed an extra couple of nights. The bottom line from us is Woodstock is well worth a visit.

Center for Photography at Woodstock

Reviewed By HeidiD451 - Lambertville, United States

Why visit Woodstock? For the music and art of course. While the famous Woodstock festival was actually in Bethel, the town of Woodstock itself has many reminders of the town's musical roots. The Center for Photography at Woodstock is a must see for many reasons. It is a non-profit exhibition space was founded in 1977 by Howard Greenberg. The space hosts a roster of shows, speakers, and programs. It's free to walk around, view some great and thought-provoking photos, and talk about the town and building's history. The Center is housed in the building that was once Café Espresso, the bar where Bob Dylan and Joan Baez played in the sixties. The friendly owner will tell stories of the building's history if you ask and spend some time chatting.
