The 10 Best Shopping in Puerto de la Cruz, Canary Islands

August 14, 2021 Osvaldo Hartline

One of Tenerife's top resorts, Puerto de la Cruz is on the north coast of the island. Both Spanish and island traditions are evident in the former fishing village. Its Sardine Festival and annual Carnaval are two highlights of life on the island. Busy, narrow streets of the Old Town, packed with colonial architecture, make walking a safer bet than driving. Popular attractions include Lago Martianez, the casino, Parrot Pool, the Banana Plantation and the Botanical Gardens, which date back to 1788.

I have again visited this fabulous shop in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife. I recommend it very highly, for the amazing perfumes, & the excellent service from the friendly, knowledgeable owners. If you love strong, lasting oil based perfumes, then this is the place for you; the range is superb! If you've never tried perfumes from the UAE, then now is your chance! Price range is excellent too, so you are sure to find something to suit your pocket. This is what I got this week, & I love them both! ????????????

El Rastro del Mercado Municipal del Puerto de la Cruz

Flea market, better known as "el Rastro", the Municipal market of the Puerto de la Cruz open Wednesdays and Saturdays from early in the morning until 14:00.

Reviewed By Marchabs - Woking, United Kingdom

OK ... let's begin by saying that this will definitely not be to everyone's taste. On Wednesday and Saturday it hosts the local flea market (or Trödelmarkt as my German friends would say). This is largely at the entrance to the main building with some stalls also on the roof. The main building is a more conventional open core structure with fruit, veg and fish stalls and lots of local snack bars. However the place really comes alive on Saturday when it is clearly a major focus for the ex pat German community and spanish cuisine is hard pressed to compete with typical German food and beer. If you speak a little german or are here with german friends, this is really great fun but it is noisy, frenetic and at times reminiscent of a slightly more mature Oktoberfest .... but with more sunshine. As I said, not to everyone's taste but, if you are in Puerto on a Saturday, it's worth trying for the experience. By the way, walk or take bus to get here .... parking is impossible here on saturday and wednesday.
