Absolutely stunning scenery if the weather is right - and go to the loo before setting off on the trek! Also remember to download the audio prior to your visit so you don't have any connection issues and because it is far cheaper with no roaming charges. Brilliant commentary I thought and the Maori element was welcomed.

My wife and I were picked up at the cruise terminal by PJ and given an excellent private tour of the Auckland area including the Fernery, Soljans Estate for lunch and wine tasting, and along the beautiful coastline and the Gannet sanctuary before dropping us at the airport for our flight home. PJ was personable and knowledgeable and provided us with an excellent day in Auckland.

German/English speaking Magnificent views of the Coromandel Peninsula and the islands of the inner gulf Leaving the City of Sails we explore Auckland like the locals do without having to fight the crowds, and discover under-the-radar beaches and walks where you can expect few or no people and a tranquil ambiance. Reaching the Regional Park South of Auckland, we walk (1-2 hrs) on coastal farmland located on the pohutukawa-fringed Whakakaiwhara Peninsula which offers spectacular 360 degree views of the Hauraki Gulf. Try putting names to the islands you see Rangitoto, Waiheke, Motutapu, Pakihi, Rotoroa. . . Coromandel Peninsula. Friends had organised for us and our bikes to be picked up and taken back to Petone once we completed the Remutaka Cycle Trail. We were picked up by Dave who welcomed us and set to loading our bikes insisting we just sit back and relax! Picking us up for the carpark rather than Featherston, as we had arranged, was no problem to Dave at all. Dave is very personable and we easily chatted all the way to Petone. One couple of our group could not join us for the full trip due to cracked ribs. Dave waived their fee, which was most appraciated.

Electric boat hire is enormously popular in the rest of the world but ours are the very first electric boats for hire in New Zealand. Our boats are very easy to drive, no experience or license is required. The "Akaroa" boat is the easiest to drive so we recommend that one for complete beginners. We are in the most perfect, sheltered location, the winding Kerikeri river offers a new vista around every bend and is teeming with wildlife. The silent motor allows you to get up close to wildlife without disturbing them. We have a choice of five different boats to suit singles, couple and groups of up to 7 people. We have enough boats for a maximum of 21 people at a time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Inclusions: An electric boat, Our staff on the safety boat, on call for advice and assistance., Lifejackets provided

I went for a ride on one of their electric boats around the Kerikeri Inlet, between Waipapa Landing and the Stone Store. What can I say - this is the civilised, enlightened and respectful way to travel on the water. No noise, no exhaust, no stink, no fumes, no blue smoke, no sputtering engine, no vroom-vroom. I had a blast sneaking up on the roosting seabirds along the banks and islands and seeing them up close, without disturbing them. I highly recommend it - but it's only for people with the right mindset, who are willing to share nature, not lording over it.

Hop aboard Vigilant and enjoy a beautiful day sailing in the Bay of Islands. We only take 10 passengers, the small group allows you to lounge on the yacht comfortably and enjoy the islands privately. Our skipper lives here in Russell and knows plenty about it's history which they will be happy to share with you. Vigilant is a beautiful traditional 42 ft Cutter rig yacht with a wineglass transom, teak decks, and a swamp kauri wooden interior. Enjoy an adventure away from the crowds of sightseers. Here, you can steer your own experience by helping the skipper at the helm, hoisting the sails or, if you prefer, just relaxing on deck while you journey from island to island. If you wish, you can swim on one of the beaches, snorkel and kayak. Comb the shores and walk around to see some great lookouts with panoramic views of the islands.

Awesome day out with Ntalie onboard Vigilant. Weather was a bit rough so she kept checking that everyong was ok. Also knows the area very well so we ended up in the right spot for some swimming without the big waves. Highly recommend going with Vigilant.
