Kedarnath Mandir

Reviewed By DAGANKIT - Raipur, India

Kedarnath Temple is located in the lap of Garhwal Himalayas, some 220 kms from Rishikesh,is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.Lying against the backdrop of the magnificent Kedarnath Range, at an altitude of 11745 ft. The nearby flowing Mandakini River, mesmerizing vistas and splendid sceneries in the form of the snow capped mountains, greenlust forests, make Kedarnath a tranquil and picturesque landscape. It is one of the most prominent pilgrimages, particularly for the Hindus. Although you can trek the 20km route but i personally suggest you to take helicopter and spend time there. do take warm cloth as gets very cold out there and midnight abhishek and puja is something to look forward to.

Triyuginarayan Temple

Reviewed By DilipS239 - Vadodara, India

I visited Triyuginarayan mandir on 15th march 2020 . I was longing to visit it since 2006 . Lord Narayan called me after 14 years to give his blessings . Triyuginarayan mandir is located in Triyuginarayan village perched at an elevation of 1,980 m in Ukhimath Tehsil , Rudraprayag district , uttarakhand . It offers panoramic views of snow covered Gadhwal mountains . The ancient mandir is dedicated to Lord Vishnu . Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married here about three aeons or yugas ago . Hence the name , Triyuginarayan with Tri meaning three , Yugi meaning Epochs and Narayan meaning Lord Vishnu , who as a brother of Parvati arranged this celestial wedding whereas Lord Brahma played the role of a priest . A special feature of this mandir is a perpetual fire , that burns in front of the temple . The flame is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage .Thus , the mandir is also known as Akhand Dhuni mandir . Exact place of wedding is marked by the Brahmashila in front of the manir . Brahma Kund for sipping , Rudra Kund for bathing and Vishnu Kund for cleansing are the three sacred kunds ( ponds ) in the premise . These kunds are replenished by Saraswati Kund for offering libation , said to be originated from the navel of Lord Vishnu . The architecture of this mandir resembles to that of Kedarnath mandir .

Omkareshwar Temple

Reviewed By Ria1104 - Kolkata (Calcutta), India

We went to this temple in winter just after evening arati so the temple was about to close for the day. But the priest was kind enough to allow us inside and also explained to us about the five Kedarnaths who were brought over there for the winter months. The omkareshwar idol was at the centre, behind which was the main Kedarnath idol along with the Madmaheshwar idol. The Rudranath, Kalpeshwar and Tunganath idols were placed at the side. We were really grateful to the priest for showing us the five different idols else we would have kept wondering which is what. Not only that he asked a security staff to show us around the temple privately.......and he took us to five kedarnath's lingams (probably replicas) and showed us some arms which they assume to be that of the pandavas. Also we were taken to a small Devi Chandika mandir and were also shown the place where they believe Krishna's grandson Aniruddha married Usha the daughter of King Banasura. I loved the hospitality we received there that also during closing time of the temple when usually people are in a rush to go home. Also we loved to get the darshan of the five kedars at one place. In case you are not fond of trekking but still want to get a darshan of Kedarnath visiting this temple in winter can be your best decision provided you can tolerate a bit cold. Also in case you are near Ukhimath during winters I would highly recommend you to stop by this temple.
