Reviewed By youli_in_asiaWe enjoyed a two night stay at the hotel in the Champa Suite courtesy of an upgrade. The room was nice and very charming. It is showing some age however it was very clean and functional with a good shower and large bath tub. The best thing about this property is easily the team from front office to f&b. They were quick to respond on Facebook and made the booking process very easy. We also appreciated the flexibility as we had to cancel a night on short notice as we were unable to secure train tickets to luang prabang. The team was very understanding. Also, we appreciated the surprise birthday cake (noticed from my passport upon check in). The hotel also had a large pool, though the water was way too cold to swim in Dec. Good, solid breakfast and a great location just outside of the night market and still well within walking distance. Thank you for accommodating us.

Reviewed By SMPGStayed for 4 nights in February, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and bathroom clean, a good shower and complimentary toiletries. The breakfasts were good with a reasonable variety of food to meet all tastes. I especially recommend the banana bread. Staff were unobtrusive but friendly and helpful .well situated within walking distance of the Mekong and main sites. A pleasant ,relaxing stay. Loved enjoying some quiet time on the balcony overlooking the garden would certainly stay again.

The high ceilings and trees made the rooms relatively cool and shaded during the peak of the hot month. Our villa was huge with a separate eating area and a beautiful large bathroom and a fantastic bath tub with a view of our private pool. The bed was very comfortable and wifi was easy to connect and fast. Our pool was beautifully set in the garden and remained mostly shaded even during the middle of the day. The only issue we had with the pool was that it was cloudy (perhaps it was due to the rains) but during the new year holidays, no one came to clean it... Maybe understandable. We were only able to jump in on our last day though the water was still pretty cloudy. Other than the rooms, the setting is great... Lots of fresh air in a more local area. The breakfast could be better but given the price we paid for the rooms, anything additional is simply a bonus.

A beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting
Reviewed By juliedW7201CRLe Bel Air Resort met and many times exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by very friendly staff and helped to our spacious room in the “Garnier” block. It had a lovely balcony looking onto the gardens, the pool and the river beyond. There are only about 65 rooms in the whole hotel and they are beautifully appointed so that you do not feel crowded at all. We arrived a little late to venture into town so we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Indochine restaurant, a restaurant that we returned to at least 3 other times during our stay. The food was excellent and better than some of the other restaurants in the town. They provide an excellent buffet breakfast as well as a selection of prepared to order western food and Laotian specials. The pool and the gardens provided a sense of tranquility. At the pool the staff was very attentive providing iced water and towels on arrival as well as a good selection of poolside cocktails and snacks. We spent a few extra nights than anticipated and would happily return again.

Reviewed By laurentj522Villa Maydou is a magical place in Luang Prabang. The traditional houses are real little museums where we have the impression that time stopped a century ago. The garden and the green swimming pool give a very pleasant atmosphere. The welcome of the staff and Noy and Patrick gives you the impression to be in a big family house where the cousins meet. The breakfast is perfect before going to visit Luang Prabang by bike. The stay was too short and we can't wait to come back.

The restaurant is perfect one of the best we had in Laos. But please when you organise a staff party for the new year eve just inform your clients beforehand. We slept at 2am... Should you knew this we would have slept here an other day.

Reviewed By JanSNJThis hotel is way out of town, but has a free shuttle bus. It has an old world elegance and the rooms and grounds are charming. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and it was excellent. Staff are friendly and well-trained. We had a minor problem with the hot water, probably because some other guests were using it, and the bath plug didn't work so we were unable to use the bathtub. Otherwise a very good experience.

I stayed for a week and enjoyed every day here. Food is excellent and service is a highlight. Recommended for solo traveler as well, very safe.

Reviewed By Posey59This is a unique spot just outside Luang Prabang. Very clean, private rooms, and eco-friendly. Lovely herbal sauna and pool, a fire to gather around at night and great food. Very happy with our relaxed stay and could return to take advantage of the many hikes available.
