The 10 Best Points of Interest & Landmarks in San Diego, California (CA)

December 12, 2021 Alice Mieles

San Diego embodies laid-back California culture, complete with a Boardwalk, surfing communities, and outstanding Mexican food. Breathe in the fresh ocean air at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, then gobble down a fresh fish taco at a La Jolla seafood joint. The naval aircrafts at the USS Midway Museum will have you standing at attention. A free Sunday concert at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion is the perfect way to unwind after a Saturday night bar-hop in the thumping Gaslamp Quarter.

Harbor Drive Bridge

Reviewed By on_the_go_98765

The pedestrian bridge is a relatively new arrival on the San Diego scene; it crosses the train tracks and 6 lanes of traffic on the Harbor Drive roadway. It is a gleaming, futuristic, space age wonder and ranks at the top of the longest bridges of its kind in the world. The specifics are that the bridge is 550 feet long and the single pylon post is slanted at a 60 degree angle. It looks more like a giant ship's prow pulling into port or maybe it looks like it should be falling down, but what it is ... is nothing short of absolutely captivating. Views from the bridge are 360 degree views of San Diego. The bridge was completed in 2011 making this the new kid on the block (or the strikingly elegant elephant in the room). It is as beautiful at night as it is during the day.
