The Jame Mosque or the Congregational Mosque is one of the oldest monuments of the Islamic era in Yazd. An imposing entrance (the tallest of all mosques in Iran) topped by two minarets that dominate the old city. Much of the history of The Mosque dates back to Mongolian times in the 14th century. The monument has been restored several times. The last works were carried out between 1954 and 1986. The reputation of the mosque is due to its Persian blue tiles, its mosaics with various floral and geometric patterns, or its fine ornamentation in brick and terracotta. The water is channeled through a qanat, accessed by a staircase to perform ablution before prayer. jame-mosque-yazd

The largest saltwater lake in the Middle East is located in the northwest of our beloved country, Iran, between the provinces of Western Azerbaijan and Eastern Azerbaijan. This lake is the famous Urmia Lake which is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Iran and the largest lake in Iran. Unfortunately, due to global warming, lack of snow and rain, construction of highways on the lake, excessive use of water resources in the region and factors like this, the water of Lake Urmia has dried up.

Shiraz is a must-see in Iran. You should spend at least two full days to visit the city. It's a small city which can be visited by foot or local taxis. The bazaar and Vakil Ensemble (Hammam, Mosque) can be visited over a few hours, and there are several traditional Persian Gardens to visit, which are quite famous, such as Eram Garden. Also, the Pink Mosque (Nasir ol Molk) is an absolute must-see to visit, preferably in the morning to enjoy the color reflections. Shiraz is one of the most liberal cities of Iran and has a nice atmosphere, with nice cafes to spend time at.

Ali Ibn Hamzeh Holly Shrine

Reviewed By MattiaC1374

One of the best shrines of Shiraz, 1 of the best muslim holy sites I have ever visited. Beside the stunning glass/mirror interior, the relaxing and meditative garden and the warm hospitality and great spiritual chat with the two girls in the visitors' area (I forgot their names, shame on me...) will give you a great religious experience, similar if not better than many other places in Shiraz (that still remains quite a liberal city considering the amount of religious sites). It's free entrance, freedom to take picture and ask questions (of course, pay respect to the pilgrims who are visiting and praying the tomb). Non muslims and foreigners are warmly welcome and you feel like a guest of honor all the time. Very close to Hafez Tomb.

Abyaneh Village

Reviewed By legendaryiran - Iran, null

Abyaneh is famous as the red village of Iran located on the Iran classic tourist route near Kashan. Interestingly, in Abyaneh, inhabitants have preserved their traditional clothing and costumes and still wear their beautiful traditional clothes. The village has a reddish stepped architecture that offers a fantastic view. You can either pop into Abyanhe on the way between Kashan and Isfahan for a couple of hours or have a day trip to this village and stay overnight there. There are a lot of activities to do in Abyaneh, such as visiting its tourist attractions, buying souvenirs, tasting delicious local food, renting traditional clothes, taking nice pictures, and riding bicycle (if available). Fortunately, there are plenty of facilities for tourists in this village including: Hotels, bank and ATM, W.C, mosque, traditional bakery, rental of traditional clothes, restaurants, cafes, snack shop, local shops, health center, etc. The best time to visit Abyaneh is during spring and fall.
