The 10 Best Points of Interest & Landmarks in Amalfi, Campania

February 3, 2022 Chanda Heide

If it's your first time visiting the Amalfi Coast, chances are you'll do a double-take the first time you see a roadside lemon stand. Yes, those are lemons, and yes, they are the size of your head. But despite their freakish appearance, you will grow to love these lemons because the locals use them to produce limoncello. And take it from us, there's nothing like a glass of limoncello as you gaze out at the sea from the balcony of your hotel in Amalfi. It's pretty much perfection.

Mivel Amalfi főutcája a Via Lorenzo Amalfi, ami Via Pietro Capuano-ként folytatódik. A káprázatos Duomo kedves emlékeket idézett vissza Toszkánából. Amalfi a béke világa. It's very hard for me to find words when I'm thinking about Amalfi. To be there... it's a memory for a lifetime. As I have seen everybody talks here about the main street of Amalfi, but to be honest I don't know where the Via dei Mercanti could be. Because Amalfi's main street is called Via Lorenzo di Amalfi and it continues as Via Pietro Capuano. Actually it doesn't even matter. The point is that Amalfi is wonderful. You can't get lost there: if you arrive with bus or with ferry, from the port you will immediately see the Porta della Marina, which is the gate of the town. When you enter, you will find yourself on the main square: Piazza Duomo which is like a fairytale. The magnificent Duomo recalled my sweet memories from Tuscany. The square is surrounded by cafes and bars, but if you are one a budget tour, there are the steps near the Dome, where you can find a nice, shady place to relax and watch people come and go. Amalfi is the world of peace, the experience is simply that you are there. You will likely continue the stroll in the town along Via Lorenzo di Amalfi. Unlike in the other Amalfi coast towns, here you have the chance to buy souvenirs for affordable price. And not only low quality tourist cliches. Not everywhere of course, but it's easy to find the shop that fits your needs along the main street and it worth to explore the side streets around the Porta della Marina. Besides that, walking along the main street you will see little alleys on both sides with steep steps. It worth to climb a little and you will feel, see and here the dolce vita in Amalfi.

In front of the amalfi duomo is the square, as a centre piece of the square is the fountain. It makes a great pic backdrop and has great presence
