Hope Park

Reviewed By O868ASsusanm - Frisco, United States

We love Hope Park! Our 4-year old has enjoyed it from the time he started at the tot area slide to now enjoying the whole playground. There are walking paths surrounding the park where your child can enjoy a trike or scooter. There is a pavilion with picnic tables for snacks or lunches. Schools sometimes take field trips to hope park so if you see buses in the parking lot you may find large crowds inside. It gets very hot in summer months because there is very little shade inside the playground. There are some parts of the playground that could use refurbishing, but that is only cosmetic. There is not a lot for a child to enjoy if in a wheelchair but more than most parks. Parking is plentiful and there are restrooms nearby.

What a find very close to a very busy vibrant city that is sure to offer you a stressful experience. Parking is cheap...$1.35 per hour. If you’re a member of the Arboretum, parking is free but know your code. Building and rehab efforts are still taking place. Some walking amongst the various paths will give you a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Walter Hall Park

Reviewed By L6593VIjimh

Walter Hall park is a beautiful, moderate size park located on Hwy 3 in League City. The park has been a integral part of both North Galveston County and League City for many years. There is a public building, a restored structure in the Spanish style, that is often used for weddings and receptions. There are covered pavilions for large gatherings with facilities for barbecue and tables for large groups. Throughout the park there are playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic tables and boat ramps. There is plenty of free parking everywhere in the park and the roads within the park are excellent. Restroom facilities are available and well kept. The park has many mature oaks trees and plenty of frontage on Clear Creek. At the north end of the park there are short boardwalks for a closer look at the creek and the surrounding wildlife habitat. The park is superbly maintained by Galveston County patrolled regularly and is a very safe place for family outings. We have spent many pleasant hours in the park with our children and now our grandchildren. There is a duck pond that is always a favorite with the kids and is home to fish and ducks as well as the occasional foul tempered goose. Throughout the year there are public events as well as the League City Fair. The park is the most beautiful park in the area, not as big as nearby Challenger Park, but much prettier. Plan your picnic by the creek in the shade of mature oak trees and have a great time. Park closes at 10 PM daily.

This is honestly a great place for kids. I came here with 4 adults and 7 kids- ages ranging from 1 to 10. They all had a great time. For the 1 year old there were swings and for the others there was a variety of activities from trampolines to swings to jungle ropes. For adults there or older kids they had life size checkers, corn home, chess on tables and even foosball. Plenty of seating throughout the park. We brought lunch and were able to sit and watch the kids play. They also had water bottle filling station which I thought was nice. Parking cost about $8 for 2:30 hours. Overall, it was a great park and we will definitely be going back.
